Do you think the people behind sl-escorts.com should be banned from SL?

Cybersex chat logs: as soon as you put those words in someone's IM or into open chat you can no longer control them They can post them and do as they like.. 'hidden' reviews: I'm sure every food critic goes to a restaurant announcing that they are a critic. I'm also sure that when they do they get the same service everyone elses does and nothing special. Sure..right.. when the world works like that reviews don't need to be hidden, until then, hes doing nothing wrong. Get over it rose, his chatlogs, his site, his right. he doesn't have to tell you hes reviewing..it would defeat the purpose. edit: From: someone posting conversation logs, or sharing conversation logs without consent are all prohibited in Second Life and on the Second Life Forums Feel free to show me where he posted or shared conversation in Second Life or its forums. His own blog/site is -not- second life and the TOS do not apply. Get over it. Grow up. To quote Foamy: Tis the season to shut the f*** up and quit being a whiny little b****!

Hell...I sell COCKS in SL fgs!
precisely my point. the gig is up stroker. i'm reporting this thread to be moved to the classifieds for violating the forum guidelines and posting guerilla infomercials in the general forum.

From: Jauani Wu ok clearly this is a collaborated publicity effort.
stroker and his working girls can't be so stupid as to not realize that this website is good for business. or could they?... This is not about business..this is about the right to roleplay whomever/whatever you choose in SL and not have to worry about having your image and convo's plastered all over the web. WITHOUT YOUR PERMISSION. How would you like it if I placed a chatlogger next to your bed in SL and then posted it on a blog?

Sorry but you are wrong Jonas.
COMMUNITY STANDARDS, Secction 4, Disclosure... Remotely monitoring conversations, posting conversation logs, or sharing conversation logs without consent are all prohibited in Second Life and on the Second Life Forums.
This may appeal to the voyeur in most of us...but that doesnt make it right, everyone has the right to privacy in SL. Even Escorts.
Abuse report him if you feel your privacy has been violated.

The chatlogger would fall under the TOS. Posting to your blog wouldn't.
The chatlogger would merit Linden interaction. The blog wouldn't.
nice how that works huh?

How would you like it if I placed a chatlogger next to your bed in SL and then posted it on a blog? I can see both sides in this issue, Stroker, but I have to say, if you paid me for an hour's conversation, I would have no problem with your recording it and subsequently using it.

Are you supposed to get permission before taking pictures of other avatars and posting them?
If reviewers are reprinting the words typed by escorts, might that be a copyright violation?
Are there rules about copying chatlogs and posting them elsewhere?

From: TheresNo Hope Are you supposed to get permission before taking pictures of other avatars and posting them? if you are posting them in a gallery in SL then yes. not getting permission could result in 400 post long dhrama threads and a one week suspension.

Stroker, Unfortunately, if you look at the CS, they were very precise on this point: From: someone Remotely monitoring conversations, posting conversation logs, or sharing conversation logs without consent are all prohibited in Second Life and on the Second Life Forums. They were very clear on the scope of their jurisdiction - conversation logs cannot be shared or posted within the SL service and in the forums, that is it. Third party sites are outside of their jurisdiction. I think what he is doing is sleazy - reviews are one thing, fine - but chat logs are taking it way too far. He is not violating the CS or TOS in that regard, however.

I totally agree Chris...LL has no jurisdiction over 3rd party sites, but they can ask him to stop, because it does violate the privacy of others. At least now everyone is aware what he is doing...notice he did not deny he wasnt asking for permission to post. Let LL sort it out. He is just looking for attention...notice the "victim" stance of the poll? Pleeease...get a Secondlife Degroot!!

I also notice the 'victim' stance in your writings, and in an escort who was reviewed who happened to post here.

This is like the secret shoppers at Macy's, only much better. I think it should stay, it's a product review. Many products are reviewed and they never get permission from the product manufacturer to post the review.

From: Marius Carnot Fact is recording anyconversation without knowledge be it vocal or digital is effectively wire tapping. In Texas it is perfectly legal to record conversations you have with other people without their knowledge. It is the government who can't record your conversations without your consent, not your friends or cybersex partners. I don't know what the laws are in other states, so it is possible that this person is doing something illegal, but highly unlikely. And, as stated before, this is not covered by SL's TOS.

USER CONDUCT (iv) take any action or upload, post, e-mail or otherwise transmit Content as determined by Linden at its sole discretion that is harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, causes tort, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, libelous, invasive of another's privacy, hateful, racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable.
I'm sorry..where is the ambiguity in that?
Email is outside the scope of LL jurisdiction...and obviously they cannot monitor every post/transmission/upload.
But they do have a responsibility to protect residents that DO NOT want their privacy violated from within SL.
This is a blatant invasion of privacy...just because it is posted to a blog doesnt make it exempt from disciplinary action.
LL has the final say as to whether you may use their service or not.
I'm done...let this thread die an obscure death...just as DeGroots blog will.

The owner of the site shouldn't be banned. SO what if he is posting sex chat logs on his site? It's not forums, not under LL regulation/TOS.
Let's use another website as an example. Prokofy uses chat logs all the time on his site. No one has bitched about that yet. I doubt the people in the chats with him have given permission for them to be posted on the site.
I see no difference between what sl-escorts does and Prokofy using chat logs on his site.
If you ban this person, then you better ban anyone that uses chat logs on their 3rd party websites.
I think some people have their thongs in a twist because they didn't get good reviews and/or places or girls have been losing business due to this site. BOOHOO.

From: Emylia Lollipop He did stealth reviews of the escorts having sex without their knowledge Hahahahaha I stopped reading your post there. Having sex without their knowledge. Ya rite. From: Sylene Mirabeau You pay for the duration of the service; the text isn't yours to do with as you will after, and it IS a direct violation of TOS and EULA to post other people's text without their knowledge or consent. When you pay to see a movie, do you get to tape it so you can show it to your friends later? A sporting event? A concert? If the text was a product, why bother hiring an escort at all? Hey Miss, ever realised that courts of all the countries I know of have always considered and enforced that quoting a small part of a text isn't copyright infringement ? From: Rose Madonna Hell, Mr. DeGroot posted the first few reviews, including my own..if you can call that a review, without any knowledge of being reviewed YA RITE. From: Rose Madonna let alone consent. I'm sure that's a TOS violation. I'm sure it's not a ToS violation. And I know I don't need your consent to quote you From: Anna Bobbysocks When I take over, I'll take down websitse like this and incarcerate these people for the remainder of their Second Lives I'm going to call you a fascist on my own blog. And there's nothing you can do about it From: Stroker Serpentine USER CONDUCT (iv) take any action or upload, post, e-mail or otherwise transmit Content as determined by Linden at its sole discretion that is harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, causes tort, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, libelous, invasive of another's privacy, hateful, racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable. Please point me at what content that person posted, that is libelous (= untrue), harmful, abusive, harassing (he only reviews each escort once), defamatory (= untrue), obscene, invasive of other people's privacy, hateful or racist INSIDE SL ? [insert more drama] Bottom line: if you sell sex, it's not private, it's business. And everyone can comment on it on their own sites. And there ain't a damn thing you can do about it. Lemme chuckle one more time... "review without knowledge of being reviewed"

I was going to buy one of strokers beds
not anymore, it'd be a risk I'd rather not take, with his casual mention of chatloggers
maybe boycott strokers? I am
