There is a big difference between real-life prostitution and SL prostitution, in case you haven't noticed.

Most RL prostitutes do it because they are unskilled, uneducated or unwilling to scrub floors at McDonald's and can't think of any other way to make their way. Some do it because their pimps will beat them or kill them if they try to leave.

That's a far cry from the SL version, where escorting is more akin to selling erotic fiction -- you're typing into interactive fantasies while your avatar animates on a poseball. You may be exploring fantasies in a risk-free environment but you always have the choice to quit or leave.

If writing erotic fiction is "whoring", you need to let Anne Rice know.

Here's a few more tips
1.) If you find yourself in an erotic club in SL just to watch naked pixels, seek professional help.
2.) If you decide to ignore the above and still have some weird need for naked women, get a girl in RL.. it's much better FYI.
3.) If all else fails please don't support some skinny white boy pretending to be a girl to turn you on and take your money. Just make a second account and strip for yourself lol.

Mostly just sick of 80% of the events/top things to do in SL being some dumb club or sex factory. This is a game not amsterdam come'on people start making something fun to do i know dang well the creativity is here. Just too many people make money off cyber pixel sex, but really think about it that's very very sad.

In SL I think the "wording" of said professions is different than in RL. An escort in rl is someone you higher to spend a evening with you as eye candy. Where as a prostitute is someone who you higher to have sex with them. In SL a Dancer is the person you "higher" to spend a evening with you and a Escort is the person you higher for sex. Actually a Dancer is someone you "can" pay to spend time with you, not a whole evening necessarily. But you get what I mean. Plus, why are we all arguing this point anyway. It's not real!!! lol.

Everyone is using their own "personal" definitions of escort. An escort, according to the dictionary, is defined as someone (or something) who guides, accompanies, leads, OR (not and) protects someone. Sexual or non-sexual is irrelevant, and is neither distinguished nor discriminated against. A prostitute can define her/himself as an escort because he/she is guiding, accompanying or leading someone into a sexual encounter. Therefore, he/she is escorting.

Personal twists are not needed. You may as well argue that the glass is half empty instead of half full for all the good it will achieve.

If someone roleplays a prostitute, then I call them a prostitute. Its all a rpg after all. If they don't want to be called whores they can quit virtually whoring themselves.

That's the problem, people like you that have no self worth if they can make a buck they will do it. I seriously wish companies would post or be forced to make avalible customers personal information in regards to real name and address. I guarantee if i ever found an employee to be "selling themselves" online i wouldn't hesitate to question thier ethics and fire them.

The ability to hide behind an avatar allows too many people to do things they would not normally do. It was fine when it was slaying dragons in an RP sense but when real money comes into play and potentially harmful psychological atmospheres arise it should be stopped.
