(I imagine posting her opinions makes her, like me, an “interfering busybody,” wouldn't you say, Moopf?

Also I find your fixation with me rather disturbing and creepy - above and beyond your previous levels of creepyness.

And for the idiots comment I'd like to withdraw that and in its place have 'hypocritical idiots' its more accurate - for both of you.

Are we still talking about how finally SL (and SL-related events) gets regularly good press (ie. every day, instead of once every odd month or so)? And how important/beneficial it is for SL as a whole? Also, how people from all sorts of online communities start to understand a bit what SL is about, despite so many misconceptions? (And how SL is at last seen as being not only "sex and escapism"?)

Or are these questions irrelevant, and the petty wars and the forums drama is more important than the long-term success of SL?

IMHO, some people still confuse "equal rights" (ie. the notion that favouritism should be fought against all odds) with "equal opportunities" (ie. the notion that every person has the same right to be allowed to grasp an opportunity and exploit that opportunity).

No one is preventing anyone else to start your own company (or use one you've already got) to use SL as a platform, commit 16-hours-a-day on your start-up, plan and organize extraordinary events (in the sense that they do not happen regularly), and promote them to the best of their abilities through the media. You've all have the same opportunities; there is no discrimination. Take them if you wish; there is no need for jealousy because others have embraced those opportunities fully and explored them to their own benefit. Specially if, as a side-effect, these measures even benefit the population overall (by attracting new users, thus increasing the population, increasing the in-world economy, attracting the interest of the "world-outside-Second-Life", and, in turn, creating even more new opportunities for people willing to embrace them...).

To that, I would add #$*@ you! (3482 you!)

I'll skip the chainsaw catheritizing and fishfork buggering for now, however, since you'd probably just enjoy it!

I don't care if they run SL, if they buy up each others companies, if they organize conventions and hold secret meetings and go into partnerships with the Lindens, Gwyneth. I just don't want them resmodding me on top of it all.

As for the publicity and the new members they get us, as I said earlier - that is terrific.

Really? Because when you find a way to drag any or all of the above imagined "facts" or trite hyperbole that you don't care about, into most any conversation, one might think you do care.

I'll stay away from that delicate subject myself. :) First, because it's off-topic; but more important than that, Jeska simply cannot deal with forums with almost 150,000 members (agreed, only around 15-20,000 post, and not all regularly). Something needed to be done to relieve them of the burden; ResMods were the "obvious" solution (when LL needs help, first they try to get volunteers for them; only when they grow to afford more people to do the job will they do it. Good, sound, corporate thinking :) ).

But as said, there is a lot to be said about it. Some people have already left in utter sadness and despair just for being on the ResMod list (they didn't even actively moderate anything at all; their name was just on the list); some of them worthy community members. Sacrificing a few good souls because of volunteer work was not a smart idea; it should have been foreseen; but it wasn't. But what exactly is the alternative?

Truly, I'm now completely off-topic on this thread :)

I agree completely :) I hope to see more — and regularly so :) Let's see if the growth rate stays high (from the usual 650-700 a day to the current 1500-1700 a day). The more people in SL, the better :) It dilutes the "elitism" and makes SL more "mainstream" — and we need that desperately.

Yes — you can get the Absolutely Top Secret List here. Mind you, like everything else created by The Secret Conspiracy To Rule The World, your IP will be logged, tied to your avatar key, and you'll be tracked all around the world, and reports sent to the Secret Kaballah, directly to Madonna's email.

Oh, and BTW, visit the SIC's unofficial web site. By the articles in Latin there, which are hard to interpret, you might found out the hidden messages that SIC members use to communicate between themselves, and better coordinate the efforts of Ruling The World. Don't let yourself be fooled by tekkie web designers that tell you "it's just Lorem Ipsum". Check this for a key to understand it. Also, this page shows that a whole religion is being formed based on Lorem Ipsum. This should be started to get serious attention from concerned residents. Who knows, it might even be against ToS.

/me thinks of writing a Lorem Ipsum ToS

I've seen a lot of derailing conversation in this thread, bordering on trolling. Please keep personal off-topic discussions in the off-topic forum and try to keep to the discussion at hand.
