From: Karsten Rutledge Seconded. I know people scream every update about how bad it is, but I've been here since 1.5 and this is literally the worst update I've experienced. I've never personally felt appalled by a major released before. I heard back in 1.4 there was a bug introduced that made vendors give out objects with full perms. I think that would still be the worst update compared to this. Saying that, this update should of been tested more heavilly in the preview grid. Admittedly, I didn't go on the preview grid and test this release, I think the bugs would of been caught had more people tested it. From: Tre Giles Troll, thats what they called me for continually asking and telling LL to STOP ADDING THE BELLS AND WHISTLES TO THE GAME, WE DON'T WANT THEM YET, WE DON'T NEED THEM YET. Been sayin' it for a while, now who's the Troll? I want new features, I just want them more heavilly tested. From: Linada MacKay ar Linden, as opposed to the player community, has come across as arrogant, Deus ex Machina, who cares about players(= paying customers), incompetent, secret keeping Monkeys. I appreciate the ingame helpers, but the backend needs some serious butkicking or a huge cup of coffee. Your 'standards' could help the community as a whole if you helped testing SL on the preview grid. From: Metawraith Mistral FIXING !! That's too strong a word, LL dont know how to fix, more like working out what to totally fubar next. I see plenty of things that were fixed in updates, when they're fixed, people don't even notice it. They don't even remember the issue used to exist. Do people even remember ghost attachments? That huge teleportation delay we used to expirence? Horrible border transitions for anything. From: Corianne Westwick There is a lot more lag than there used to be, causing jerkiness in both movement and typing. Also, flying is problematic. Sometimes I get in the air and just take off, flying flying flying, with no control over my av at all. I end up over the ocean somewhere. As a old user, I can tell you this isn't as problematic as it used to be not so far back. From: Corianne Westwick Karen Linden: ""A major exploit in 1.11.0 has come to our attention late Saturday night PDT"" --- COME TO OUR ATTENTION??? WTF....DON'T YOU PEOPLE EVEN KNOW YOUR PRODUCT ANYMORE??? Do you people not in fact run this game? Hmm? o.O Jesus, what operating system are you using to run Second life, there is no operating system I know that never had a exploit in it.

From: Cristiano Midnight A program called Snag It is very nice - it is what I use for all my screen shots - it's reasonably priced and does a lot of stuff, including even video capture. The best part is you can drag and select the area you want to capture, then crop and edit the image in the editor before saving to various formats. Definitely better than plain old print screen. Snag It is definitely a nice program. I've been using it for a long time. Well worth the purchase price.

From: Raphael Rutherford I'd be happy if they would simply announce what the f*ck is going on and when the grid is expected back up. Three hours without ANY information is totally unacceptable. I refer you to my post on the same page...in particular the closing statement about the daschund.

From: Elror Gullwing This has been an extremely problemmatic version. While the addition of 'features' are always desireable, the types and numbers of features being added lately really do not add very much base functionality to the user experience or real add-on capabilities in terms of content creation or control.. As a builder, I'm here to say that in point of fact these "features" REMOVE base functionality to the user experience. They make things that were once easy to do harder: 1. Taking a picture. I have to do this for my boxes, and I like to do it for memories. Now made MUCH harder, and in many ways, with fewer, not more options. 2. The pie menu. Clicking on something to edit it (which a builder does a great deal of) has now gone from a simple thing with an immediate effect to a very iffy thing, with random strange effects ("No your request to be transported is cancelled," "Your request to attach is canceled," and "object go poof". (Look for it in your trash folder, by the way.) Even when the pie menu works right IT TAKES LONGER. In addition, I know that little flashy thingie takes up SOMETHING in terms of the server and my computer's ability to process it all. And for what? All for NOTHING. Except maybe some little swooping method the developer wants me to use instead of the simple point and click method I've always used. 3. Editing. Changing numbers in the edit box now takes two steps, not one, and you can't determine what texture you have used on a previous object. (I expect the later problem to be fixed.) The overall per meter box is meaningless and the control-z works even less than it used to. I could go on. Chatting is now harder, staying logged in is now harder. Flying is absurd. FPS IS NOW LOWER. This update has done nothing but make SL worse, in so many ways, it's laughable. Or would be, if I weren't crying.

I cannot imagine that the Linden who dreamt up the changes to snapshot and the fancy flashing pie menu has actually spent any meaningful time in SL using the features or interface. Does anyone know if the new snapshot system was previewed to the selected "Advisory Panel" who were brought to SL to approve of new features? If so, was the Advisory Panel too in awe of being selected for VIP status to tell the truth about the new set up?
Maybe the panel likes jumping up into the air when they really mean to type....

Maybe the panel likes jumping up into the air when they really mean to type.... The preview versions of 1.11 and 1.12 were released to all of us right before the first SL Views panel. The fault for this lies squarely on LL, I am not sure why you are using this as a backhanded way to bash the SL Views participants - they had nothing to do with it.
