llGetInventoryKey was protected anyways already, it only returned keys if both, the task and the item were full permissive, means, you could acquire ids only when the item was copyable anyways already. I tested one case where it was possible to have the task full permissive and the object inside no modify/no transfer and the key was NULL_KEY. IMHO the assets were already protected very well. Also, if you could put something that's no transfer into a full permissive prim, once it was transferred to another account the no transfer items disappeared anyways. (hint: add this to the test cases to check if permissions work correctly)

I have an object that was a pretty reliable victim of the double-touch bug, it's working correctly for me. That said, we had observed that that problem could be very load-sensitive.

That may be, The region ended up having some other email related issues, and was restarted. Since then I've not seen further touch issues.

Script Memory Changes

Was there a change to the mono VM and/or compiler? I am getting errors trying to compile long scripts. It is saying that there is a byte code error and it is out of memory. This is for codes that previously compiled and ran with no problems. I have had to delete considerable amounts of code to be able to reduce it down to a size that can compile.

There are a couple of things going on. See a few posts back in this thread, post 167, for Prospero's explanation of some schedule changes that will whack some scripts at run time.

Since you're getting whacked at compile time, you might be "lucky" like me and need only to try a different viewer version. That's in post 164, for some reason the Mono checkbox is now being ignored on some viewers (but it seems fine with the official viewer and the current RC).

Thank you for the quick reply. I am having problems logging on to the grid and also working with inventory. I had no luck with the stable release under linux. I just tried the RC candidate. One time it had the same problem. On re-log it worked. (??!!?) In both cases I was not able to use the mono checkbox. Very odd....

I guess it is time to just sit tight and let things settle...

Kristenlee's viewer is now the 'official' viewer of OpenlifeGrid. As they aren't allowing any other viewer to connect to their grid, I suspect certain incompatibilities with the default SL grid will start coming to light.

I would suggest you change over to the Cool Viewer, it's made with pretty much all the same fixes, only still SL compatible.

Um...how "Open" is that?

A disturbing development indeed.

...

If they're not allowing any other viewer to connect, they're doomed.

Yes, they seem to think one viewer is somehow better than another, even though they come from the self-same code base. Seems to be some kind of ego trip, and those will always lead to ruin.

dudes, we're wandering off topic....

I'm going to close this thread, because the 1.25.4 rolling restart is done.
