Bradley seems like a nice guy, but I'd rather not, thank you.

Thank you Chas. I am a pretty nice guy and I hate to ruffle Danielle's feathers more than they have been already. It's just that I will tolerate almost anything except intolerance. I've seen enough of that in the world to have no patience for it.

It really is silly to assume a person is a particular nationality based on the time of day, however, it really doesn't matter to me. I have met jerks from every continent except Antarctica and more countries than I can count. I've met rude people from some but would never make a generalized remark about them. Why? Because for every jerk I've met in the world, there are 10 great people I have gotten to meet.

I've been in SL for almost a year. My remark was made on my experience.

but go ahead, chauvenist Bradely, defend the DJ.

thank you all for your support.

I guess I must have deserved such treatment. Was it because I was a woman? maybe it was because I was asking for it because I had on a mini skirt?

or wait, it was the prim hair, wasnt it

K, ..lemme revise k?

Why are people in SL so rude.

You've all proved, with your responses, that everyone in sl can be rude, no matter their nationality.

tell me where I was rude?

tell me, yet again, that because I IM'd the DJ and told him that the people int he back of the club couldn'd hear chat, that I deserved to be banned.

Thank you.

I want to be so rude to you all right now.

Thank you for being so rude to me.

good night.

I told Dj ..in IM...."you go for quantity, not quality, I just spent 15 minutes in the back of your club talking to myself" ...

So ... correcting each patron's social shortcomings/shyness/reticence becomes the responsibility of the club staff? Handy to not have to be responsible for your own behavior.

... and .. you broke the ice by lodging a complaint?

... well, no, correction: You apparently didn't lodge a complaint - you just insulted his clientelle...

and HE'S the one that's rude? Do you go into shops in FL, approach the shopkeeper, and open the dialog by insulting his regular customers? How well does that work for you?

Am I understanding this?

No, not fully yet ... another correction: its' not just HIM that's rude, but of course the entire collective body of his countrymen ...

and his country can be identified by simply looking at the clock, because no one is online at that hour from ... wherever you live. You are the only person in the entire nation so engaged at that time.

Nevermind that for some twenty years or more now millions of kind, loving Americans have been emotionaly and verbally bludgeoned if they even remotely hint at any kind of blanket statement pertaining to race/ethnicity/country-of-origin/blahblahblah ... because that would be called "hatred" ... yet this same discourse can be leveled at Americans with abandon. For some reason it doesn't count as "hatred" if you 're beating on a Yank.

I don't get it.

Wow ... while I was typing my response, she turned up the self-pity flow by another several orders of magnitude!

That't some record-quality stuff right there.

good night.

You're welcome:)

BTW: Next time move a little closer to the front. The DJ can't increase the chat range, except by shouting, which is very annoying.

Chauvinist? What did I say to be called that? LMAO. You have no idea what you are talking about or know anything about me. If you did, the last thing you would call me is a chauvinist.

For you to make that statement tells me you are just a flamer trying to stir something up here.

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME FOLKS. MOVE ALONG.

Did you all miss the part where I said my SL time is generally spent during US days?

So you assumed he was American. At the time of your post, that made it early evening in Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Japan, Parts of China.. get my point?

Seeing more of the posts now, you have a bit of an attitude because you don't like peoples replies.. you know.. Kinda like the club owners attitude when you told him he was not doing a good job at catering to all his guests. in place of wasting his time typing he did what 'he felt' was the next best thing to do.

Same old rant about Americans being rude. Blah, blah, blah.

That wasn't rude. Come see me I'll show you what being rude is really like, I don't like anyone.

What is it with some of these foreigners? They as weak as they seem? C'mon, show some backbone.

I think this thread has got seriously derailed by some people trying to prove the DJ wasn't American. My reaction to this is, what if he was? What does it prove? One American was rude. I'll buy that. It's not beyond my range of comprehension.

To address Danielle directly in respect to her question, no, we can all be rude. That's life I guess .. RL and SL

Oh, and being abusive to one of our regulars isn't going to endear you to us either. Sorry, but we have feelings too.

/me waves to Bradley, Sally and Kelly .... oh what the heck ... everyone else .. even Danielle.

no one was rude to you. they pointed out that such a blanket statement was presumptious.
everyone here sympathized with what happened to you.
they did not agree with the blanket statement that Americans are rude and hateful.
calling people names and basically getting into a snit just because they pointed out the fact that you could be wrong in your assumptions is well rude.

But the third job, some call it, uh, "the show" or "the big dance," it's the profession that every linden aspires to.

Rage and rudeness stem from deep-seated feelings of unhappiness and insecurity.
The amount of rage and rudeness exhibited by a person is a barometer of how much they perceive their life to suck bigtime in ways that they feel are beyond their control.

Unprovoked rudeness is a pre-emptive defence mechanism used by the inadequate.
They have a fantasy that rudeness projects strength.

It's not confined to Americans.
If a particular country develops a bum rep, then it might or might not indicate a society in which people feel the equivalent of low-level road rage most of the time.

Rude people are best avoided. Their lives suck, and they want to make your life suck too.
