so my ?: is it just Americans who are rude?

I was going through events.....and saw this one place over and over, something about the feeling you get from fire, and what your tongue does.....and I go there, then after 15 minutes of being alone and ignore, mention it to the dj, who trans's me home, then ban's me and mutes me..


and I gotta wonder...

why post events if you delight in banning and muting ppl?

so that is my question, I think?

but mainly, wanna say, why post in Events, unless you want quanitity not quality?

and another question, why are Americans so rude and hateful to every one even their own?

I have the whole conversation in a log, for anyone to read, so they can see, I was not the antagonist......but you guys don't care, do ya...nah, didnt think so..

I am sorry you had a bad experience today...
Although there is nothing that bothers me more than when people say things like "you Americans", "You German", "You Mexican".
We aren't all the same and you attacking an entire group of people (Americans) is what seems rude here...

And why go to an event just to point out that you feel that they were overdoing it in the events section?

I just think that, like Consumer reports, there shoud be somewhere that if we get BAD service, we should be able to say so, without everyone telling us its OUR fault that we were treated like excriment.

someone needs to realize there are too many people in SL who think that they can treat everyone else like crap and not be accountable.....

I don't think most Americans are as rude and hateful as those who make rude and generalized statements about an entire country of people.

I know plenty of Europeans that are online and partying right now...

Cultural stereotypes are easy. Kinda saves you having to bother with making the effort of thinking. In contrast, I've always found American people to be the most courteous and pleasant folks - both in RL and SL.

If only they'd apply a bit more taste to their building, they'd be fine.

just wanted to say, hi Danielle. now that we got that out the way, do me a favor, take a deep breath, now take another. now think, no one is attacking you personally, no are they attackin the fact you had a bad experience, what they are responding to is the generalization you made about americans.

understand, you cannot tell ones nationality by the hours they keep in SL. and to assume that just because it was 8am European time(10 hour diff for me so roughly about 10pm PST im gathering)does not mean the club, and or people involved in said club were american( ok i'll give you the Dj, and thats if he talked).


i am truly sorry that happened to you, and i wish it could be erased, but its one of the things that happens in sl, jerks are jerks, and they come in all shapes, sizes, sexes, and nationalities.

It kind of is in the US since Thursday is a holiday. Since we're all so rude we are assuming it's holiday for everyone, or showing we don't care if it is for you are not.

I told Dj ..in IM...."you go for quantity, not quality, I just spent 15 minutes in the back of your club talking to myself" and that was at about 11:15 Pacific standard time in a club ...the DJ's response was..paraphrased, but I do have it logged, "I couldn't care less, I am the owner here, I do what I want" Orbed me...banned me then "muted".....and that was that.

If I had been obnoxious....or broken rules, I would raise my hand and say, Hey, my foul.....

but I didnt do anything ....I was in private chat....

so, you know what? defend him,it's okay....I was silly to think that anyone here would listen.....

Hey c'mon Danielle, there are people whi have seen your side on this thread and given some good thoughts.

These things happen. You ran into an a**hole. There are some about. Best just turn your back on it and laugh. Sounds like he hasn't got a clue and I'm willing to bet that his place won't be around all that long. As you say yourself, sounds like he's just using events to boost numbers, but once people find out there's nothing much there worth sticking around for, they won't be back.

It's not all bunnies and light no. But, from my own experience, I've found SL to be much much more good that bad. When you do run across something bad, just turn away, take a deep breath, smile and move on to something better.

It really isn't worth giving more than a moment's though to, let alone starting a thread about.

I would offer you the "Whiner and Self Pity of The Month Award", but I'm afraid that might be rude. I'll just give you the "Narrow Minded" award instead. That you have justly earned.

I think the better question is, Why are people so rude? Rude people come in all sizes shapes and colors. It's not good to generalize in this way.

Yes, I'm an American. In SL, I'm more along the lines of just another person.

Really it's hard to put a tone of voice and body language to text. Then with some, add in the language barrier as English not being the first language.

I agree the person you are talking about was rude, whether they were American or Martian.
(my guess, immature 20 year old on a power trip)

I'm sorry you had a bad experience, but not everyone is like that. I've heard of other people having the same experiences and for that reason I only go to clubs/events recommended by people I know in the hopes of avoiding it.
