Underaged brother

Hi, my brother is 16, he's been playing second life since he was 14. Since he's been playing Second Life, he's had no social life, participated in very few social activities, and has been failing in school. In other words, it destroyed his life. He's a very "successful" scriptor ingame though. He works for some important names ingame and no one has a clue that he is underage. He has downloaded a voice changer, uses a mature vocabulary, and has worked in the porn/sex industry. Since he's been playing the game, he's tried to become more controlling of me, not that he's really done anything to really piss me off aside from acting like a mental retart by picking his nose, licking his fingers, rubbing his dandruff off, and pushing me from time to time. He's been frequently talking about suicide over the summer and I'm just tired of this shit. My parents already called Second Life and I don't know if they closed his account or not, but this verification or whatever the hell they do to see if you're underaged or not, it's not working. It's ridiculous how they can knowing let underaged kids play this game. If my brother does suicide, I'll attribute it to Linden Lab and could file a wrongful death suit. Someone please give me some advice on what to do. Thanks. I won't name him here because it'll probably be against the rules.

Easier said than done. It's useless to take his computer away if his account isn't closed. My house has three computers and my brother knows how to go around the passwords with all the computers. He'll just go on another computer in the house, school, or library. And with no computer, he'll just sit in his room writing code. Thanks for the advice though, but I've thought about that.

Why spam a serious post? it's one measly post count. It has no value. Please refrain from spamming if you have nothing useful to say.

The trouble is, it doesn't sound very plausible. If LL has been contacted, then his account is suspended, and there's no problem. Also, parents can prevent it.

OK- this was written by my eleven year old son? He does great fiction! You should hear how he and his best buddy over powered some knife wielding kid in the lunch room the other day and carried him outside to FHP...

Please, we have been trolled by very convincing souls- really lousy effort...

On the EXTREMELY slim chance this is real- dude- get a grip- if he is 16 he is no child- 18 is an arbitrary number- he is old enough to pay his own consequences.

Okay understandable. Maybe his account has been suspened, but he's been on another account with the same first name, but different last name. He's mentioned, he doesn't care if he loses his account. He has all the code saved to his hard drive and doesn't mind working on different accounts. He said his friends have closed accounts and opened new ones due to exccessive spam and he could use the same excuse when telling his old friends as to why he has a new account. Please specify how parents can prevent it.

Will that that also be SL's fault?

No poor parenting destroyed his lfe, if he suicides your parents should be the ones locked up, not Linden Labs.

He hasn't even been using our internet access lately. He uses my neigbors'. I have no right to ask them to cancel their internet.

I'm sorry. It's just implausible. Parent can prevent such things.

It sure will be. Video game/computer application companies consult numerous addiction specialist on how to keep your eyes glued to the screen. Because of this, LL should try extremely carefully to prevent underaged players from coming into the grid. Because LL allowed him to come into the grid in the first place, they have "hooked" him to it and it consumes the majority of his free time. So yes, it is SL's fault.

Wow this game's community really has been dumbed down since all the profitable businesses slowed down. Before residents used to be very kind, thoughtful, and helpful. Not spammers or trolls. Parents can't be locked up for a suicide. They actually did a good job raising us for your information.
