Not that that really matters. There have been plenty of complaints of fraud being committed. It's not against the rules, in the sense that LL won't get involved in most disputes between users, but few people think that fraud is merely questionable.

More to the point, it doesn't make sense to ask for a single specific price at which someone would do something ethically questionable. That's because "ethically questionable" is inherently a spectrum.

Lol, firstly there are not lots of people involved in that and secondly my responses are about defending my reputation against being attacked. I already stated I cannot be bought so its not over L$ for me. If defending myself against being called a liar makes me look bad then so be it.

Read it as "selling out our ethics". Very few people sell out their ethics by going to work.

I think the way the question is worded initially, and what Desmond has clarified it to mean are different. My SL reputation is worth nothing to me, really, and I would happily compromise it in for enough cash to live on, provided it didn't involve a lot of work. So, if I could do something that wasn't ethically objectionable to me, but made others turn up their noses, BUT earned me the same amount of RL cash in, say, 10-20 hours per week as my RL job takes 40+ to earn, I'd be on it like stink on dead fish. I think that would make my RL much nicer!

On the other hand, I wouldn't be willing to do all that if the time trade-off were the same, i.e. 40 hours in SL to make what I make at my RL job, because I like my RL job more than SL. (Horrors! It's true!)

And then, on the OTHER other hand, I would not be willing to do anything hurtful to people in RL via SL (like extorting, or any kind of fraud) for any amount of money, even gobs more than I could make elsewhere. Because, really, there are plenty of opportunities in RL to be a dick and make lots of cash and I haven't seized any of them. Being able to hide behind an avatar wouldn't change that, because I'd still have to live with myself.
