Of course the obvious thing is the web cam verification wouldnt even work unless it involved some nudity.

Unless you assume all men look obviously Manly and all women obviously Female.

For example I know a Male Avatar who is a Female player. Her RL pics look like a slightly built man.

And of course the whole Idea that only women would have to use the web cam is blatantly sexist.


Honestly I can't help but think this policy was created by a bunch of sex starved adolescent boys hoping to score. LOL

Hey I'm quite proud of the fact that I was all alone in the YES camp for the first fifty or so votes.

My first two posts in the thread pretty much explain why.

I struggle to take this poll seriously.

I thought it was just another Poopmaster thread.

I thought he was taking the um, pistachios. :D

I think the answer is so obviously _no_ that I thought I'd have a bit of fun. :p

If they do, they'll have to start with Cory Linden (the brains behind SL), and Torley Linden (The SL Video tutorial guy), both men who appear as females in SL.

Finally. Somebody understands. :D

Now that I've tainted myself with regards the poll, I might as well answer seriously:

I couldn't care less what gender somebody chooses for their avatar in SL. People generally get hung up about things like gender bending, furries and kids because they fail to fully immerse themselves into a virtual environment which enables their imaginations to run riot; where people will inevitably have fun creating characters, playing roles and exploring aspects of their personalities they are unable to do in RL (due to fear, social & cultural boundaries, prejudice, whatever).

That one could drop their virtual man panties and slip into a Dorothy dress is one of the greatest appeals of this platform in my humble opinion, but unfortunately some of us just ain't feminine enough to pull it off. :p

I think webcam verification for giant robots would be a good idea.

You would also have to prove if you are a male giant robot or a female giant robot.
