Should LL ban men who play female avatars?

I voted no. I couldn`t care less, and I think they should be able to play whatever character they want.

Web cam verification is stupid, I have so many female friends I could get to sit infront of a cam for me if I needed.

If this were ever implimented inside SL it would die for sure. "Web cam or be banned!" I don`t think so.

That would mean for every single female avatar, their Rl typist would have to get on cam or not be allowed access to the grid. Riiight.

Well to be fair they are only voting to end gender bending the poll doesnt include "Web cam verification" thats just part of the copy in the Chinese ad.

Without the web cam nonsense and the "BAN", the end result wouldnt be all that different than LL adding the ability to display verified gender - which has received some support.

I really don't understand why anyone cares. I never ask anything about a persons RL except maybe where they are from and that's only after there's been references to it in their conversation. If someone plays their roll well I don't give a damn who they are in RL. I do admit, however, that I don't have sex in SL so I have a different perspective than some.

When I came out in opposition to putting verified gender on the profile, I got a lot of support. Hopefully someone from LL will see the way this poll is running and do some thinking.

I wonder how different the numbers would be had the poll been anonymous. Policies like that really give me pause about that Chinese run version of SL.

I think if the Poll was "Should LL do Gender verification?" youll get a lot more people in who say that should than ..

"Should LL ban Gender Benders?" Which will not be popular due to the freedom issue.

"Should LL do web cam gender verification of just women?" is going to gain almost no support.

Polling is a real science and reputable pollsters will work very hard to ensure the best wording for the most accurate results. The same question can be asked numerous ways and get numerous different results. disreputable pollsters work very carefully on their wording for the same reason. You'll see a lot of that in the US with the upcoming elections.

Now don't forget about Ruth! (and will you need to be verified to be Ruthed?)

Many Pollsters ensure the best wording to achieve the results *they are hoping for*.

Of course the obvious thing is the web cam verification wouldnt even work unless it involved some nudity.

Unless you assume all men look obviously Manly and all women obviously Female.

For example I know a Male Avatar who is a Female player. Her RL pics look like a slightly built man.

And of course the whole Idea that only women would have to use the web cam is blatantly sexist.
