How CAN they 'adapt', when there is so much content they aren't allowed legally to be around? It's US who will have to adapt. I don't want to adapt my content, or feel that kind of pressure regarding my behavior, or double check to see if my bed's poseballs are showing (that was tongue in cheek), etc, if I am even allowed to HAVE a bed anymore. I don't want teens impacting my SL in any way, shape or form, I don't wanna see 'em. Just stay away.

The "adopt" part was way more interesting.



How about you staying away with your bed in adult areas. In RL we keep adult stuff separated and not the other way round.

A good reason NOT to merge the two grids. Not sure if this has been discussed but this is a monster thread I haven't time to read the whole tome. Sorry. (Others might not either so...)

There are multiple video clips like this on You Tube. Basically, the overly aggressive surrounding and 'freaking on' any female avatar. Also, the 'hitting on' underage RL girls with female avatars by those who say they are twice their age...Both are being reported in the wide-open PS3 "Home."

This wouldn't happen in SL? I think it would.

(I do *also* think there are many mature teens and many organ grinder monkeys who call themselves adult. But, still.)

Because this isn't RL. If I wanted things to be how they are in RL I wouldn't be in SL.

But SL isn't RL. Why the hell would anybody bother with RL 2.0? One RL is quite enough for for most of us.

And, *as if* the little angels won't find away around any type of attempt by LL to keep them away from mature areas, and then when you interact with them, who will get in trouble for that, regardless of the fact that *they* penetrated whatever safeguards are set up, and *they* initiated contact with you. Will they get in trouble? No. You will, and it will be YOUR rl that will be impacted negatively, not theirs. They'll get a slap on their dainty lil wrists and be told 'bad'. Because you see, they can't make legal contracts, they're not of legal age to do so. UGH.

No it wouldn't. In Playstation Home this happens because there are basically no women owning a playstation. So the very few who do are getting harrassed. Kinda like IRC in 96. I always used a male nickname for that very reason.

There are ratings in SL already, PG and mature. So I cannot really see the problem with real teens being in PG areas, if they are secured enough.

Right. But now, in those PG areas, I can at least assume (per the SL TOS) that everyone there is over 18, no concerns if I should choose to go there, OR if anyone chooses to come to a mature sim, also can assume they are over 18. Bring in real teens and all bets are OFF. Once they find a work around, will never be sure again who's who, and believe me, they WILL find a work around, how to escape from the PG areas.

What difference in behavior would that make? PG is PG, it doesn't matter if real teens are around or not.



I am sure there are ways to prevent that from happening by simply making the mature sims invisible, just like the teen sims are now invisible to us.

I've owned every Playstation...haven't bought 3 yet only because its price is still ridonkulous.

By making them non-existant. Try camming into a teen grid sim. Hint: They aren't even on the map.

Age verification has its own snares/drawbacks...vehement opponents for various reasons.

Why not simply improve the existing teen grid.

Also, people forget that being online/online gaming isn't a *right*. People confuse want and need, although harder economic times may address that and balance it more.

This must be a business decision from LL, although I still have yet to see *why*. They will drive away those who frankly have more access to $ and credit to spend more in SL.

I never said that you claimed NO women owned a Playstation; but it is not true that the reason women are groped/surrounded to the point of being unable to MOVE in "Home" or that tween girls are hit on by (men who say they are) 40something in "Home" is because "very few women own a Playstation." (Which you have not proven anyway.) Hello? Men who made female avs were treated the same way. Go in You Tube and watch some of the clips where they show exactly that. But *your contention makes no sense*, sigh.

Mixers in PG areas? Sorry, I don't want to attend a mixer with thirteen year olds...And why would they want to hang out with their parents' peers? You obviously have another viewpoint which is fine but your contentions aren't supported and you are not seeing the other side at all.

Splitting main grid into PGgrid and Mgrid would require a certain amount of rework on the mainland.

I don't think this is going to happen for a while - if it happens at all. It's way too much of a risk at this time for a site liek secondlife to jeopardize the loyalty of its patrons and supporters in general.

In a supportive sense, its a wonderful idea - but it IS just an idea.
