It already IS like Logan's Run.
How many avs u see who look over 30? That's cos their crystals turn white and griefers zap them. You thought those griefer guns were just for funs. Any time I see an avatar w/a white beard my av wants to run its fingers over their wrinkles and say "do those hurt?" Do u really think any avs are 80 behind the keyboard? I don't. Lol. |

I had no idea...
But some do seem to obsess over it, even being asked to dance, some will say "first how old are you." Upon which my av walks slowly away thinking, "rude moron". If they are that concerned they haven't understood SL methinks..... I had thought everyone was like 18 to 40ish I've met a couple of avs who said they were in their 50s... It really doesn't matter to me, part of the charm of SLuniverse is that it's what u have *inside* that is key. Oh and a hot av. =) |

ya i think 18 to 40 would be a high avg for sl..
most of the older people i have met are very sweet gentlemen that more or less love to talk and do things in sl like see all the neat things in sl..like balloon rides and things like that. site seeing..at least the ones i have met..but i met most when they were new to Sl so really that is not to say everyone is not like that too.. _____________________

"Classic" not "Cheesey". ![]() wouldnt be suprised when all people above 35? left ....the grid would be half empty, and lost some of it's most "important" creators ? . _____________________

I'm intrigued, I wouldn't mind meeting people who were a lot older than me, whether or not they wanted to talk about their age or RL experiences, I think they would be more grounded, (probably) and have more to say than a lot of the bored scriptkidz running around sims...
I have some 19 yr old friends in SL who are very cool though. Not ageist here, in either direction. It really yanks my chain though when someone demands my RL info just meeting me. None of their bizness! Now I see when they said "older" they might've been afraid of my being 80? But still...none of their biz & not anyone's place to make someone feel awkward. Which is why it's in LL CS rules not to ask RL info that isn't in the profile. No one ever seems to have read those though. Lol |

Lol ya or the first thing before saying a word is either a TP or a friendship add.. or how about the first words ..where are you from? how old are you..you can give me make sexo? i just kind of close the IM or the blue menu and keep shopping or building.. i've grown tired of commenting to them anymore _____________________

That's ALSO not to say that perhaps you've met many more older people than you realise - you just had no idea of their First Life age because they were such hot, funky role-players ![]() |

Thing that's funny about asking RL info anyway is - do people not understand people can lie about it all anyway? Lol...
I don't even ask these things - I just wanna have some fun in world and meet friendly people and that be it. (Ceka: I need to do that, too.) |

Send nan and gramps to me if you dont want them.
I'm not in SL for sex, I like to chat and talk to people and the way I see it the more midlife crisii somebody has had the more down to earth and thoroughly interesting they are to talk too. I dont believe in segregation except that which is voluntary (joining a 'scene' of some kind to find like minded folk). Besides, bodies age, but the spirit doesnt. _____________________

Age: How old do you want me to be?
........ obviously a request to be under age would be declined Sex: Not now thank you. ........ just in case. Location: Here ........ or, if things look nasty, somewhere else |

/me has heard too many stories of the nubile 27 yr old internets female being really a 57 yr old portly man - way before SL - to ever care. I've heard second hand of tales and lives entirely forged, complete with pix and all that. Fake age, gender, pix, life, and one or two fake life's death faked, even. Scary stuff. Being 'reassured' is relative in this context.
Best to keep it all in perspective. |

I don't think I have met anyone in world my age (the wrong side of 60). Its good to know I am not the only oldie in SL.
Perhaps we should start an oldie group ![]() |

Sometimes I think the cartoon nasty should be taken out of SL. I heard it called many things, but never "Cartoon Nasty" before. /me sighs. It is all that us 80 year old geriatrics can manage now. Why deny us this last bit of fun? |

I know a feisty lady who is over 80 and she recently went RL parachuting for the first time, just for the hell of it. All being well, people don't stop being who they are just because of a few more years on the clock. There is no reason why older folk should be segregated from other adults in either life.
And me, I've been 29 a LONG time. -- Aes |

In SL...I don't see where RL details matter much at all....unless it is a romantic relationship that is or has the possibility of moving to RL. I think one of the beauties of SL is that it puts everyone on an even playing field...without all of the RL things that sometimes become barriers. Oh...and I know at least 2 others in the 60+ crowd, Alexa. So you definately aren't alone. edt: meant "without all of the RL things"...fixed now. _____________________

I completely agree. I just looked it up, and copied the relevant section. Its going in a note card, and will be sent to anyone else who starts to interrogate me. |
