I've seen a lot of talk about under-age use, but what about over-age? Would it bother you to find out the stud/studlette that you're bonking is really an 80 year-old geezer?

Should there be a Senior Grid for folks over a certain age? And what would be the cut-off age?

I'm just asking because I might be getting close to that age. And I think I hear footsteps coming after me.

aside from a minor, it would not bother me.. actually.. I've always liked older men...

AND I find older men or woman if the case may be, have a stunning attention to details that a mear snip of a man or woman at 20 (something) just do not have.

(dont flame me, I know you reader are the exception)

Yes but...

I still remember...

• rotary dial phones

• black & white TV... that got maybe 6 channels

• owning an 8-track tape player that only worked if you jammed a pencil in it

• playing Pong for the first time and thinking what a cool game it was

O.o
C < Damn, I am OLD!

OY! Dont get me started on reminiscing on days of old!

Atari 2600! Playing the Journey game. Begging Mom & Dad for quarters to play this new thing called "Space Invaders", some new thing called "HBO", still remembering using a rotary phone, getting my hair 'permed' cuz it was the cool thing for guys to do- and looking like a total Girl. Bell bottom jeans, watching the Bannana Splits, the only anime seen was Speed Racer & Gigantor, watching the failed movie of Lord of the Rings by Ralph Bakshi, going to a drive in to see movies, seeing Jaws & Star Wars when they first came out, Stretch Armstrong! Shogun Warriors!! Big Trak!! The gas crisis of the 70s- my dad had 2 licence plates (odd & even numbered) so he could get gas anytime, visiting my great grandmother in Wildwood NJ and spending a week at the boardwalk (watch the traincar please!), Jordache Jeans!, Brook Shields when she was "hot", Planet of the Apes! the tv series!....

See? What'd I say! :p

YES :D

And running up a really really steep hill after school to watch Robotech.

Waking up extra early on Sunday morning to watch Kimba the White Lion and Battle of the Planets.

LOVED it when Cartoon Network started airing the original Astroboy.

"Where are you from" is a legitimate question since it refers to time zones

"When are you usually on, SL time" is just as good.

And even that, imo, should be asked after knowing someone a bit - asking it upon first meeting suggests that the person expects you to be sharing SL time with them from that point on and that is a bit premature, imo, just as a friend invite might be upon hello.

SL time is the same for us all, yes? Seems to lend itself to privacy there.

There are reasons people might not want to divulge RL location, such as, not wanting to give the impression they are up for RL meetups, or also, to simply have more privacy perhaps they are ducking in as an alt for instance. That said, I don't always mind divulging nation at least. But would rather not even that. Some of us just don't like giving up the stats. (In my experience that open door isn't usually left cracked open.)

It also reminds me of AOL chat and the incessant ASL which only seemed to be geared toward wanting RL meetups, to me.

And you had to switch between VHF and UHF to get them all :)

Yep, I still have my Houses of the Holy and Back in Black 8-track tapes somewhere.

We had a couple of those, palyed for hours. When we got a 2600 I played so long I blistered my hand and couldn't move my wrist for a couple days. Early carpal tunnel syndrome LOL

Check eBay, I've bought a few phones from that time period that either worked or needed simple repairs. Those things were industructable :) But, I haven't had home phone service in years. I'm planning on getting one of those adaptors that let you use them with bluetooth someday.

Aha, my first computer! I sold it for only a little less than a paid for it, days before Sinclair dropped the price by 50% in anticipation of the Spectrum launch. I learned the basics of umm... BASIC on that little black wedge.

A few years ago they had a mobile rotary phone just like the old AT&T Bakelites. Actually worked. Overpriced for buying as a gag, but really was tempted, if only to see how the dialer worked.

Still not going to buy one, but there it is, for those caught between eras.
