From: Gabriele Graves Hey, I saw what you did there *adds Raudf to The List*. Expect a visit...soon VV As long as you aren't Bloodlines, I'll live.. err.. die.. err.. undead? happily! It's not like it won't rise from the ashes again. Some dark mage will try a resurrection spell and wind up eaten for his trouble.

Hell No, you get cooties from Bloodlines From: Raudf Fox It's not like it won't rise from the ashes again. Some dark mage will try a resurrection spell and wind up eaten for his trouble. True, it is more tenacious than pit bull with his teeth around a mailman's leg. Maybe it needs exorcism instead?

Zombies need brains to survive.
/me surveys the posters on these forums.
I would guess there is less than a week's supply of brains left.

I would guess there is less than a week's supply of brains left. Chris, go look at the archives. The open flood gates stuff should count as a negative to the brains quota. Given that... the zombies should already be dead again. Personally, after every horror movie I've watched, I'd just cut the head off, bury it in a pile of manure in the middle of the great salt lake... and then burn the body.

From: Conan Godwin I have spent the last two days exploring a well known unofficial forum, but found the average IQ there to be significantly lower than here. Also, significantly lower than lettuce. Several regular forumites frequent a number of unofficial fora, but you all come back here for the good stuff.
Nasayers would have had us believe that the lack of moderation would have Residents' Answers collapse into an orgy of back-biting and flaming. I thought this was going to be about plants, and was going to point out that you missed the 'l'. But it looks like you missed the 'm' instead... I might have said an unofficial forum about a month ago, but things turned very sour on one of them... Now, I'm kind of up in the air over this. There are issues on all of these places.

From: Gabriele Graves And they say the Undead are brutal Never said I wasn't brutal. I'm delusional, but not _that_ delusional! I tried to fake sweet and innocent once.. I was told I was scarier that way.

From: Conifer Dada I stick with this forum. The unofficial ones have too many semi-literate, foul-mouthed psychos In the old days one could go to those other forums and get the 'ugly truth' when LL was playing the corporate spin game. Now it is just group therapy for griefers and such. i do lurk there once a year hoping for some actual information again.

We can only hope some one creates a good alternative that they REALLY moderate and keep control of so even the feint of heart can express their opinions without triggering a uncontrollable pile-on.
a forum that crosses the 3D social network would probably be the most successful, One that encompasses Second Life, Blue Mars and OpenSim avatars - we all know we have them. Let them all meet in one place for once.

Let them all meet in one place for once. Well, there's free hosting for anyone who would like to start one, but it's horribly clunky -- phpBB rather than VBulletin and slow. http://www.freeforums.org/Perhaps someone with the resources, knowledge, time, and motivation can assemble a fully moderated (and properly hosted) alternative? The llight and/or complete lack of moderation makes the alternative third party forums apparently unpalatable to many of the posters here who will be "homeless" onces LL gets around to axing it. It's far easier to complain than to step up to the plate, I suppose. I'm guilty of this as well, although RL has severe demands on my time, nor have I the inclination to try to moderate a forum -- half zookeeper and half babysitter.

This forum is moderated with a light, but, it seems to me, a fairly even hand. The "other" forum seems to be moderated more lightlly, but when it is, it's for the benefit of a clique. Regardless, the "other" forum is leaps and bounds better than this one in terms of usability.

I glanced at the other forum once, but didn't like the "look" of the setup and I heard from others it is much less "civilized."
Never went back; prefer staying here.

Now it seems there is a third choice, perhaps the darkest path of all: secondcitizen.net
They have a no ban policy there.
