Not if your spouse or mate doesn't think so.

I tend to agree, BUT, I also agree that only the two people in a relationship can judge that relationship. So I do not judge other people's goings on in SL (unless it's on my land. Lol.)

I also think two people in a (real life) relationship* should be on the same page. Another big BUT...it is also true that a lot of people are NOT on the same page as their partner on this and possibly more, which is what I presume a lot of the rumpy-pumpy on SL is a product of.

Yes, some people just go out and cold bloodedly do what they do...But I've met a LOT of people in SL who tell me their real lives are a miserable horror show...So who are any of us to judge. I tend to think "whatever gets you through the night" as the song goes. (Disclaimer about being over 18 and willing.)

---

*I am not saying that there can't be long distance i.e. internet 'relationships' although to be honest I have heard tell of a lot of them fizzle into nothingness once the people meet in real. As in instantly. The 'net has been around a while I've heard a lot of stories like that, actually. :/

Going on :( I thought it was because of my virtuous attributes and sterling reputation.

Thanks for clearing that up. Cue Scylla and the EWWWWWWs.

/me clears throat . . .

I'll be happy to tarnish that sterling for you, if you'd like. No worries, we can polish it back up later, nice and shiny.

 I don't think that is the way virtue is supposed to work!

/me skulks off muttering, "Honestly, men and their Coke bottles and mother daughter fantasies and oh for the quiet life, and when will Mellita open the nunnery and Des had better pony up and thank god the cases are nearly packed for the mountains...."

Box or not, that sounds like the realm of the absurd. Clearly I have NO imagination!

Pep (Actually, my brother is a Doctor so I am used to reading incomprehensible writing.)

I agree, doctor's have horrible penmanship.

Perhaps, but most of them know how and when to use an apostrophe, which is not for pluralizing words. (Beating Pep to the punch here. ;) )

Great, so my av is supposed to have a conscience? what about strip clubs, RL or SL? lol I kid I kid

What if said relationship lacks certain levels of freakiness that can only be found in a virtual haven?

What if one does cheat, how silly would it sound to their other that they were bumping pixel uglies with another?

What do you do then, admit what you did, or hide it for 50 years? If hiding it will keep your marriage together, is it worth hiding?

I get upset if my wife even text messages another man.

OK you got me LOL. Actually, I had written something else and forgot to remove the apostrophe. I was going to edit it again after viewing your post but see no need in it now.

Thanks Lear (Pep)

My RL husband thinks it's a stupid as you just made it sound. :p It's me that chooses not to do it, because (for me, only, am I speaking here) of the RL emotions that would accompany it. I can see myself actually caring about those pixels I am bumping, and the drama (in my own head possibly) that would ensue. I Just don't want to put myself through something like that unnecessarily.

/me waves at Treasure. Hi there!

Did that music station I gave you yesterday was ok? If not, let me know and I will ask Will for another one.

Hey you, yes it's great, thank you SO much. It plays from several different genres, which is nice, traditional, classic (much like traditional, but still different) rock, even soul, yep, James Brown got a lil sumthin in there. It's perfect for my parcels and I thank both of you for finding it and sharing it!

True, seems like a valid fear and reasoning.

When someone searches plane tickets to England on Expedia, that is when a virtual friendship has gone too far.

Is oogling on a Vicoria Secret model or lapping porn any different than the SL virtual sex experience? Would you consider that cheating? Gone are the days when a well-worn Penthouse magazine with a handy jar of vaseline was all a man needed to do the trick. When will we all just admit we are sexual beings, we were brought forth in sexuality. Emotional committment is complex and often misunderstood. Married or not, we would all be better off with less expectation and more acceptance...

Agreed; and that is why I ALWAYS say 'in my personal opinion' or speaking ONLY for myself, as I did in my prior post. My own emotional commitment is never, ever 'misunderstood', by me. I choose to avoid that in SL. My choice. For me, not for you. Problem?

No problem for me Treasure. As I have come to realize, everyone has an opinion but not everyone's opinion matters. It is somewhat pathetic (at least in my opinion) that anyone would come to SL expecting emotional satisfaction. The OP and the question of cheating can be answered simply "yes" or "no." And yet, surprisingly, we have this inane propensity to qualify our responses...perhaps to justify or lend credibility to our own illusions...

Now, what fun would a forum be, if all you could say were yes or no? Oh, wait, we can go over to the flog/flogorum for that though, and even get points for it. BTW, my opinion ALWAYS matters to me. Doesn't yours, to you? There have been many times though, that I've typed a response and then deleted without posting, deciding that my input wasn't necessary, or qualified. This is a social venue, though, and I think the OP probably expected more than yes or no responses when posing the issue here.

Insightful and appropo Treasure (btw, love your first name, would like to know the story behind it someday). Anyway, I see what you are saying, so I have decided to delete my prior posts...way too analytical and admittedly a bit pompous! Nevertheless, I have to say that I have had opinions in the past, some quite strongly rooted in evident truth (seemed so at the time), that have since proven to be fallacy (like when I thought I was in love). Oh, if only the Earth were flat...

I think polishing only does more to tarnish sterling reputations =)

then again reputation is only as good as word of mouth.... which reminds me there are some lips I need to staple shut...

So, call me nieve but is deira and Laurin xpecting me to believe that a man can slip his tingie INTO a bottle. Watch it expand and then whump it up and down to get that rhythm working? Now I cant imagne that. First it would hurt. Coz I know how squeamish men are when I've had a hand on them. They go wriggly and try and get away or roll over and press themslves into the matress to be coy. Second what happens afterwards? Why not just use a bag of tomatoes?
Why do men have to stimulate themselves with odd holes? Do men actually LOOK for odd holes wheeever they go?
No jokes please. Do men really do this kinda thing? Odd holes and bottle drives?
