Are you "cheating" your RL relationship with someone in SL?

Feelings of intimacy and affection for a character in SL do have their tripping points and there is a fine line between playing a romance and being caught up in one. It still amazes me though how much I can pick up on another person’s emotion, sentiment, humor, sarcasm even, and how much people project their RL through the keyboard. But, I spend most of my time watching the text unfold rather then staring at the AV anyway. Now with voice more readily available, these issues have taken on a whole new paradigm. I prefer conversations that are intimate in nature be done in text rather then voice specifically because voice goes beyond the role-play and can interject too much RL. For me, the words “I love you” still carry far more weight spoken then when typed.

As i've said on other Forums on this Subject, I have Deep Romantic, and sexual relationships in SL, and before that, TSO, and Not Once have i Cheated on my RL Spouse. She has been Fully aware of ALL my relationships, and as long as i remain within the Boundries my wife and i Discussed, she Fully approves of and Supports my Relationships.

So, No, I've Never Cheated on her, and i Never would.

You're right. Women tell me all the time that I'm much more tolerable with significant amounts of alcohol, so I suggest liquor instead of custard. Custard will get you nowhere.

So, change my order to a slice of marionberry pie, a grilled cheese sandwich and a large bottle of bourbon.

Anyway, I think this thread has degenerated into Fridayness a day or two early.

I meant that I'm much more tolerable to them when THEY'RE drinking the alcohol. When I drink it, I'm much less tolerable. I can barely tolerate myself. Sometimes I get in drunken brawls with myself, but usually I just put a lampshade on my head and dance with my pants around my ankles.

The Portugese guy was another thread, but the only reason that it matters that he was Portugese was that I couldn't understand most of what he said. Let's just say he wanted to be my "special friend". So far he's the only person, male or female, on SL who has approached me for that particular service. I was fully clothed and not in a place where you would go for sex. At any rate, hilarity has now ensued and he has become part of the legend of Trout, along with holey grilled cheese and the little biplane that could.

Biplane rides are free, but make sure your insurance is up to date. Something goes wonky with the controls when someone is sitting on the wing, so it's often quite a ride

Not everyone is currently in a Traditional RL monogamous relationship - or any RL relationship either.
