Well, I will bow to your knowledge of retarded web sites. And my state representative and I have had long conversations about gay marriage laws. Any and all the points you have brought up rarely, if ever, did in our conversations. With luck, you won't have to live much of your life in the U.S. in a period not controlled by those Established Religions of yours. We do, however, have hope for the next generation...

Haha, as do I. Look, I role play a lot on this debate on the internet. My cousin is lesbian and "married" and a Christian. I am torn apart, as is she. There is nothing I can do to help her.

And guess what! I never voted on Proposition 8. Why? I am undecided. My cousin is one of the greatest, most giving people you will ever meet. What are her legal rights and what is involved in regards to the First Amendment and DOMA? I don't have all the answers, but she has a 3 year old son now and we'd better find out because this boy deserves all equal rights to see both his mothers even if my cousin should die. The two women who have been with him since the day of his birth. Many in my family say she is making a lifestyle choice they don't agree with. I say she was born this way, as when I was boy crazy starting at about 13, she never was interested in boys at all. I knew something was different with her but couldn't figure it out when we were young teenagers. But she never liked boys. So, I say she was born this way and it is not a lifestyle choice.

Equal marriage rights? Me, undecided. Need more info. But hate it as much as most of you for my cousin's sake and her sons.

However, my cousin should not be steered away nor shunned nor put down for being a Christian. It is a large part of who she is and what she has decided and how she will raise her son.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof..."

The second half of the sectence to make no law prohibiting the FREE EXERCISE thereof pretty much means shall not meddle nor interfere. Splitting hairs.

This only works if you think your religion has the right to make the laws for the entire world despite what their REAL governments say. Also, not everyone believes in your religion.

You lose. Try another one.

I believe homosexual marriage infringes upon the rights of the First Amendment and I am entitled to my belief
You're entitled to believe in anything you want, from the flying spaghetti monster to antidisestablishmentarianism. That doesn't mean anyone has to RESPECT your beliefs. You are demanding respect. You're not going to get it.

No it's not. Your wording gives "established religions" special status. The actual wording says there's no such thing as an "established religion". Your wording changes the meaning completely.

Actually, I've been in this debate on other forums for almost three years.
And you still can't get the first amendment right, and you can't tell the difference between "Hindi" and "Hindu"...

You *seem* to be making things up as you go along.

ETA - btw, does that post mean that you are not happy with our latest derailment of this thread?

Cute! Happy Holidays!

Me and my cousin say sorry To Argent (post 1002) we never caught that it was spelled Hindi not Hindu. The one whose been typing has visual handicaps.

As far as the First Amendment. It's winning, dude, can't deny that no matter how much you want to side step the importance of debating about this, but take it to an appropriate forum which I mentioned over a month ago!!!!!!!

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

OK, normally I can figure out what you're trying to say, even if it's completely wrong, but this isn't even wrong. It's just incoherent.
