I don't care what language people speak, the problem arises if I can't understand them. If I can understand them, grammar and spelling are irrelevant, this isn't an English language lesson forum.

'Ta guele!' was my introduction to the French not to be found in my schoolbook.

Pep (Potato expressions? Sounds fascinating! :D )

Lmao. That, "Way!" over 'oui', 'si' in the wrong tone and slumping were discouraged in my house. Oddly, I swear like a sailor still but have excellent posture. Perfection has turned out to be unattainable, sigh.

I know a hell of a lot about potatoes though.

/me thinks that if Dove is going to make potentially asinine claims that could be hurtful to others who *do* suffer from impairing personality disorders she should prove her Remote Diagnostic Psychiatric qualifications . . .

My point exactly.

Pep (But poor grammar and spelling *can* cause misunderstanding. :p )

Isn't that what you yourself are doing?

You did make a claim against me saying I must be an ESLer. How do you know that was not hurtful, especially when I like to think I am not as bad in grammar and spelling as most.

I happen to have OCD thank you very much, that is why I think you have it, you are so obsessed with your idealistic view of the way the forums should be, that hell winds will not stop you from expressing as much.

Indeed they can, although you seem to go out of your way to find misunderstanding. There are tactful ways of pointing out to people that they are using wrong words, there's no need to embarrass people.

This being a Pep thread I'm now not convinced I'm spelling words correctly!

I've checked.

Pep (The doctor became more concerned regarding his own sanity the longer he spent with me. )

Does it make you feel good to gloat

There is a thin line between delusion and conceit

Would you like to add dimensions such as self-esteem, self-confidence, assertiveness, arrogance etc . . . :p

Pep ( . . . and suggest how they could be differentiated perhaps? )
