I have to agree with Brenda.

I honestly try the SL search engines to find things. I also find that most of the places I find are not selling what I need. Yesterday, I was looking for some dancing Pose Balls and I was quickly and easily directed to the best place from the hangout.

not to mention the fact that anyone is invited at anytime. feeling unwlecome is a personal, low self-esteem and lack of confidence issue each person will have to ovecome on their own.

So what else is needed for my boy toy status
I demonstrated my ability to dance on my own without a Disco ball plus my modest attempt to master a few multisylable words I even tried to keep up with the shopping but I think I lasted maube 5 minutes -- I quickly realized I was WAY out of my league.

The ability to concurently handle several conversations quite frankly scares me, but I will try. Like most men, my ability to multi-task means I hold the magazine with my left hand. I am looking forward to the other dances, however. I mean, who would not go through hours of hazing for a single dance with any one of the beautiful, witty and intellengent women I met yesterday at the Hangout -- and I will have the honor of two!

All kidding aside, it was very nice to drop in and find so many friendly people all at the same time. I can not believe I have missed this place when it is exactly what I have been looking for.

First of all some of you (not this quoted person) people need to learn what the defination of the 'troll' is. A 'troll' is not someone who does not agree with your point of view. If that was the case all of you are trolls.

Second. Just becasue strife 'allowed' it does not make it the correct action. Clearly he was in the wrong and treated it as a 'special case' which he shouldn't have. I have yet to see one of you people deny the fact there are not better suited forums for said post. Thats telling that you know I am correct. Rather you just hurl troll labels at me. *chuckles*

Third, you think this has something to do with 'compitation'? *rolls eyes* This has NOTHING to do with my club. I have been to said place a few times. Not only was the traffic much lower then mine but I was told to 'get the f*ck out' when I made a joke about someone playing a child avi, by the manager. So if you think I feel threated by the hang out either on a traffic or quality level you are all very mistaken.

I failt to see why my very simple point is going above your heads, you all seem fairly educated people. However, I am not going to repeat myself like a broken record. I said what I had to say (on clearly deaf ears )... Have fun with that.

I would have to wonder what kind of joke you were making to be kicked out. We are damned liberal in the conduct we allow, but if it was thought you were insulting one of the "kids" we have as members, well then the manager deserves a gold star. If you have the guts, PM me with the manager's name and the chat log. Let me see what was said.

I have been bit down and really exhausted, I am not sure if I would be much fun these days.
Yet I am glad the forum cartel exist especially with all that usually exist that is so profit driven, and often feels very much like a ghost town in world. I enjoy reading about
all the fun that I am missing even though most of events are when I am offline or I am sleeping.
Only category I would fit in is perhaps "unrezzed eunuch " if I was still a forum cartel member.

I'd like to know who that manager was, and what exactly this joke was (Privately of course). If it was an unwarrented rebuke, I'll talk to them. As far as Traffic goes, since it is not a Commercial Concern, the numbers are unimportant. I do agree though, I wouldn't classify you as a troll either. I find your posts to be Cold, Pompous and Arrogant at times, but always substantive. Less can be said of mine. *still upset over not being named in the Gang of Trolls*

EDIT: I see Chris has already asked for the details of the Joke Incident. I hope Strauss does send it to either of us. And I never thought I'd see the day Chris would attach himself to anything deemed Liberal.

Forgive me if I am wrong since I have never been to the forum hangout. From what I gather, it's a newbie friendly place where no selling is going on, and a great place to go when you're not too sure what it is you're suppose to do in SL. There are people there who could point you in the right direction. There are many threads started by newbies who ask, "Where do I go? Please give me some examples of fun places, etc". Wouldn't this forum be the perfect place to post this thread?

No one has sold me anything while I was at the Forum Cartel.
For few who were there and myself it was more of show and tell to see what each of us had created. I gave out some Pie furniture I had made.

I hoping I can get my rl self well enough to do some more painting or forum doodling soon to create a new signature cartoon soon or what not.

Frankly, I noticed it too when this thread was first made. Just about any day you come to the forums, there's almost always at least one thread 'in play' telling people about the forum hangout

I didn't say anything, because frankly, I was worried about elliciting the same reaction that Strauss is receiving.

It has nothing to do with competition. It has everything to do with fairness: Boy, I'd love to make a thread reminding folks that the Shelter is still out there, and that we offer some of the same things as NCI. We're a community service organization, no differently than the forum hangout is there to serve forum regulars.

I haven't made a post like that for the Shelter, because I fear it'd be negatively received as an advertisement that doesn't belong here. Forum signatures, or thread *replies* are about the only advertisements that seem to be deemed acceptable around here.

So, I guess I'll ask this: Would everyone be okay if Strauss and others posted threads reminding folks to visit their venues in this forum? If you think that should be okay - I don't see how there's anything to debate about.

However, if its *not* okay, its somewhat creating an unfair double standard - and that, I think, is the point Strauss is trying to make.
