Worst moron I ever encountered was Euro. He had an obviously high-quality avatar made to look like what gays call "rough trade" and wanted to dance with my male avatar. When I told him I only dance with women, he told me he was in reality a woman. (!) A little more conversation made it clear this "woman" hadn't the slightest clue how most women think and feel. Eventually, he, she, or it poofed. Not only a stupid moron, but a decidedly creepy one too. Just saying. _____________________

It does get annoying for my wife, and for me also. LOL, sometimes if I am in the wrong mood I have been known to chase one of the idiots down and give them an ear full. One of the things I ask them is if they talk to women on the street in that manner. They always say no, and cannot explain why they do it here. It is not just restricted to "men" avatars, she has been hit on by "women" avatars also. You have to wonder if those "women" avatars are really guys but the approaches are so different. One of the few times I was hit on by a woman avatar, it was a request for sex while her RL husband watched over her shoulder, as foreplay for their RL sex. O.o because in cyberspace, it's "acceptable" behavoir. i get those types of hits from men and women, and so does the hub. it used to teeme off, now we have fun with it. we have one of those second expression attachments and once, just for laughs, we turned on all the expressions at once and chased the offender around. it was funny as they couldnt understand why our faces looked so ugly. _____________________

I've been thinking about this, on a serious note, and I guess what it comes down to is that being in SL is sort of like going to a foriegn country. It has it's own customs and way of doing things. You don't have to join in, of course, but at the same time, if you get upset about the way people are conducting themselves, when what they are doing is sort of in keeping with societal norms (at least for that particular society), then all you are doing is creating stress and heartache for yourself. I'm not saying you don't decry inhumanity when it occurs in a different culture, or when in Rome... I'm just saying that for harmless behavior, albeit vulgar, you just have to roll with the punches and not let them get you all bunched up.
OTOH, nobody has ever approached me for sex on SL (except this one Portugese guy, but I may be wrong - my Portugese is pretty weak). Maybe I have an ugly avatar. I just don't know how this is happening to you men. The women I understand, I suppose, because as a man, I understand what a bunch of idiots we are. But on SL, a woman shouldn't have to approach a man for sex if that's what she wants. All she has to do is show up and look moderately not like ruth, and the guys will line up. Maybe it's a matter of which guys line up? EDIT: Do you want sex now? _____________________

I'm sitting in a class all day on financial and estate planning, which is NOT what I do for a living and which has no effect or positive benefit on my career or life as far as I can tell. It may be the most boring thing I've ever done, so I desperately need entertainment. I can't, for the life of me figure out how I got roped into attending this abomination, except that the company I work for is doing some marketing and wanted a "presence" here. I ditched a staff meeting and got myself elected in absentia. Poor, poor Trout. All he has to keep himself awake are corny jokes in the forums. _____________________
