That's because the Mailman couldn't get across your Ban Lines, Gomer.

Unless you are an Italian vampire who built an eyesore next to my home, my banlines won't affect you. :) OH noes! the Italian vampires have taken over mail delivery!

Join the club. I never get that either. But that might be because I come across as rather...weird, geeky and tomboyish sometimes, or too dark and frightening. Or both.
(Maybe the clothes you sell are not...short-skirted enough? :D reminds me, I gotta HAVE that Natacha Atlas outfit...LOVE Natacha Atlas, and she has more curves than many singers out there...but I digress....move on, nothing to be seen here!)

@Paulo: Nah, you just make sure everyone remembers that name now... :D

Two nights out at orientation island (home of the noobs!), very similar outfits- same top (part of the Last call new releases, looks like a riding jacket and blouse) different bottoms. First night I'm in the matching gold pants and a pair of pirate boots. Very fashionable. The other helpers get hit on like crazy, but I get pretty much left alone.

Second night, same top, but I swap out my gold pants for a knee high skirt. I get 4 pick up lines in an hour. Sadly, I must have looked a lot more approachable in general because I got a lot more people asking for help too, male and female.

Who'd have thought. I thought the pants outfit looked pretty friendly and outgoing. I'll take the pants back out when I'm feeling anti social =D

*sigh* I am usually in Victorian style clothing now... mainly because I love it and secondly because the pick up lines wind up being A LOT more classy ;) I've noticed that the hump-em-and-leave-em kind tend to not mess with the completely covered look ;)

But when I'm in normal clothing, I get hit on a lot by the lower class bores. Also, for some reason, my client seems to be allergic to half-witted attempts at come ons, because it crashes almost every time it happens. *shrugs* Probably just as well, the comments I'd make would not make the amorous lack wit very happy, because my reaction would consist of /LMAO and saying, "It's so SMALL!!"

Hmmm that's a possibility. I could switch to my lovely lavender skin... or maybe the light blue one. :p

go lavender - blue is going to still be mistaken for ice.

and wear TONS of bling - evidently that has the same result in SL that Cheap perfume does in RL.

Darn you, Colette. I'm supposed to be WORKING here. I'm obviously not sitting here giggling in my cubicle about ore reserves...

OP aside - it has to be a bizarre experience to be a woman in SL. I feel like I can go just about anywhere without being approached, other than the obvious places, by a woman looking for anything. It's a lot more like normal life - people are open to conversation about whatever, but they don't just approach and offer to jump in the sack if you are a man. At least that's my experience. I think it would be immensely annoying to be a woman if that's what you have to deal with all the time.

Good tip, Capella. I'm very much a pants type girl, but I guess I'm going to have to show some leg to give out more Info Kits...

Trout, mostly it's fun...especially when the guy shows a little class and subtlety. You can flirt and tease, and both wind up pleased with yourselves, even if you have no intention of going off with them.

And, the few times when it's not fun, I just keep saying to myself, "You WANTED to be popular, girl. This is GREAT. Really." Then I TP home, draw a deep breath, and get some ice cream.

He he, I usually reach for the Scotch. Some guys can really charm the pants off you (Down, Figtree). I've had guys strike up conversations based on the most obscure of my profile interests, It impresses me, that they can read,(big plus), and bother to read the profile.

It's pretty bleak when basic literacy is a big plus, but I suppose that most of what you can do with them involves the ability to write creatively, so that would be a big plus, wouldn't it? In real life, physical attributes determine who is the most attractive, in SL, mental attributes and the ability to communicate those mental abilities make that determination. Hmmm. /me is pretty stupid, so he might be in trouble either way.

I read everyone's profile. Some of them are very interesting.

I have an interesting variation on the unsolicited proposal theme.

When I design a new outfit, I always take it for a test drive in some of the busier areas. If the outfit is intended to be a sexy one, I measure its success on how many unsolicited pick up IMs I get.

It is a great market research tool :)
