From: Phil Deakins I don't even think of that stuff as wisdom - just conjuring tricks with numbers - but, if it did, it wouldn't hurt because we're all holograms anyway On the other hand, since the Milky Way prevents us from seeing a huge chunk of what's nearby, cosmically-speaking, (it's in the way) our galaxy could be in imminent danger from another one right now. It was recently announced due to increases in the cost of cocoa beans that the 150gm Galaxy bar is now going to be a 125gm Galaxy bar, Orwell is probably smiling in his grave.

Did we all agree on something yet?
I kind of got sidetracked on some of the philosophy and the math...

I kind of got sidetracked on some of the philosophy and the math... I think we were getting to the bit about us all liking chocolate, but whether it comes by way of a bar, a cake or a pie is a different matter.

I don't like chocolate, really. It's tolerable when in with other things, but I recognise it for what it truly is: bean paste. Sometimes mixed up with a bit of wax. Sort of a strange, twisted cousin to hummus, but gone horribly wrong and doctored up with sugar. Sowwy! *hangs head in shame* everyonegonnahatemenao

Sometimes mixed up with a bit of wax. You must be eating a lot of Nestle products.

From: Rasecel Masatada As I understand it, 1+1=2 in arithmetic but it equals something resembling (or close to) 2 in calculus. I think your calculus is rusty. However, .999... = 1

From: Phil Deakins That's the current wisdom but it was only a few ago when the "big crunch" was the wisdom, so who knows what the next wisdom will be? Perhaps the universe really will head for a big crunch and, if it does, then on the way to it is when whatever was broken will become unbroken. Yes, but no. Yes, we could be wrong about the big crunch. No, things that were broken will not be unbroken. This is true even if we do get a reverse of entropy (which would not happen until the singularity of the big crunch preceeding the next big bang, where all bets are off because theory predicts that theory can't predict much after that -- which is what makes it a singularity.) Yup, I knew you'd enjoy that. Your homework: reread "The Elegant Universe".

From: Aeslyn Dae If there's going to be a Big Crunch, then it ought to come with a generous layer of caramel and be covered in a thick coating of chocolate as well. You can't do these universe obliterating things by halves.
-- Aes I like this theory. Mmm, caramel, chocolate!

Other than just pie, I think everyone loves a Vegemite and sardine sandwich.
