If you can think of something we all agree upon, post it here.

Just one posted dissent will invalidate your answer.

I shall go first.

We all like pie. True, or no?

Hmm...one thing we can all agree...

That within a euclidean geometric space, there is such a thing as a straight line?

Too late.

PS Take that as my contribution as an universal truth: You can't unbreak anything. Unless Cher had her wish come true. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7OR0U87mRsY

grins.... I only meant that I read your posts. They are highly logical and insightful. You cut through all the emotional noise to bring a reason and sanity to the topic at hand.

1 + 1 = 2?

That there are many things on which we disagree?

That the sky is blue, except when it isn't?

That trying to list all the things we agree on is a very silly idea indeed? :)

1+1 =2 is true if it is for decimal calculations. For other calculation schemes it will have other results. (e.g. binary) :p

There is not "one thing" that everyone will agree upon.......including this statement.

or

With the appropriate prompts this will turn into a Jig and Pep thread.

Second Life is good - but isn't as good as it could have been.

I always liked pudding more than pie, especially if it's steak and kidney and my Mum made it. :)

Nothing is universally true. Here's the proof:

Nothing non-physical can be universally true because it depends upon the communication of concepts between individuals, who will almost certainly have different cultural frames of reference.

Nothing physical that is in the future can be universally true because of risk.

Nothing in the past that has not been observed by everybody in the population discussing the question can be universally true because of uncertainty.

Nothing in the past has been observed by everybody in the population discussing the question.

Pep (And I will delete this post soon so you can't even rely on its existence as a universal truth.)

It is locally and ephemerally true

Pep (for the population discussing the question)

PS But when I delete the post it will no longer be.
