From: Pserendipity Daniels Nothing is universally true. Here's the proof:
Nothing non-physical can be universally true because it depends upon the communication of concepts between individuals, who will almost certainly have different cultural frames of reference.
Nothing physical that is in the future can be universally true because of risk.
Nothing in the past that has not been observed by everybody in the population discussing the question can be universally true because of uncertainty.
Nothing in the past has been observed by everybody in the population discussing the question.
Pep (And I will delete this post soon so you can't even rely on its existence as a universal truth.) The problem with this is that it's logical. Logic isn't a reflection of reality, logic is a tool that builds *models* of reality. And one can't assume that all of reality is amenable to logic, or can be contained in a logical model. Some things could be beyond our ability to comprehend or perceive. Also, there is a contradiction in your proof - not a REAL contradiction, but a logical one: if nothing is universally true, then this proof can't be true either, because it would violate the proof by being itself a universal truth. .

That we can't all agree on something.

From: Alexander Harbrough 1 + 1 = 2?... Nuh UH! 1+1 = 3, for sufficiently large values of 1.

. I explained that the proof is only locally and ephemerally true. Pep (So it doesn't contradict the theorem regarding Universal Truths.)

Agreeing about things that are true is Logic. Agreeing about things that are unknown is Religion. Agreeing about things that are false is History.

In the set of people that are sane and use SL or have used SL for a sufficient amount of time, all will agree that SL is not perfect. Upon reflection, and review of posts made by others in this forum, its possible that I'm the only one in that set.

Time spent posting in forums could probably be put to better use in most cases

From: Sling Trebuchet That we can't all agree on something. Never would have thought that WE would agree on something Sling, but this is the only true thing in this thread. And probably that won't change. Sorry to say you failed with your OP Des, I am not really fond of pie

From: Desmond Shang If you can think of something we all agree upon, post it here.
Just one posted dissent will invalidate your answer.
I shall go first.
We all like pie. True, or no? Does cheesecake or apple crisp count as pie? If so, then I can agree.

From: Aeslyn Dae Second Life is good - but isn't as good as it could have been. I always liked pudding more than pie, especially if it's steak and kidney and my Mum made it. -- Aes 1. Why does your mum make steak and kidney pudding? Never mind, my mum was like that too. 2. What about a pudding pie? Chocolate, not steak and kidney.

From: Pserendipity Daniels Nothing is universally true. Assuming this statement applies to itself, it has exceptions. If it doesn't apply to itself, then it's false. [Edit -- I see someone beat me to it. But, it's beside the point of the thread, anyway.]

I don't have anything to add to this except I'll gladly have bread pudding. (Is bread pudding a pie? a cake? Doesn't matter, it's what I want.

From: Pserendipity Daniels Nothing non-physical can be universally true because it depends upon the communication of concepts between individuals, who will almost certainly have different cultural frames of reference. The possibility exists that there are truths that remain consistent across all possible cultural frameworks.

Posting from another thread, which I believe everyone can agree with. From: Har Fairweather Boy, this thread ballooned fast!
Jig, sorry I didn't get on soon enough to catch the first thirty pages or so, but if you've read this far, here, finally, is the answer to your original Question:
The answer is: Oral Sex.
With oral sex, it doesn't matter who is hot and who is not. As long as both people are obliging, it is blessed both to give and to receive. (If you get my drift, and I assume you do.)
Actually, it doesn't much matter what the Question is; the answer to any question is usually Oral Sex. World peace? Oral sex. How to find happiness? Oral sex. The answer to the universe and life and everything? Oral sex (by the 42nd time you will understand this. Trust me.) See what I mean?
