Damn. I'm so jealous of all you people who can even drink soda. I'm on a migraine medication that has the wierd side effect of making all soda taste like the aluminum cans they come in. It's heinous.
I have found some "all natural" root beer and cream sodas which do the trick in a pinch, but I'd really just kill for a regular Coke some days.
And I do mean KILL.

From: Brenda Connolly Right now, it's easy. You won't be able to swing a dead Linden without hitting an adfarmer, so most cpmplaints will be valid, and those that aren't already packing up will hopefully be removed by LL. But what about later on? The plot that's next to yours, may be empty, not at all hindering your acess or enjoyment of LL , and the owner is a miguided type who thinks he can get way yoo much for it. He sets it at 2, 3, 4, times the going rate. Is he committing an offense? Would you AR him. Maybe you don't like him for some other reason. Would you use this to get at him, maybe get your friends to do so as well? *I mean you in the generic way*
I'm not knocking LL's decision to take action. You complained long and loud, and they have listened, finally. I just hope they are willing to carry out the plan properly and efficiently. Some resdidents may not be able to spot a true land extortionsist so easily, I hope LL will. This is a good point. The real test of whether Chris has a valid point wont come now, but in a few months. When people will AR some place thats not really an adfarm because "they heard you cant have ugly builds" or "you cant overprice small land" Much like those who nowadays want to AR kid avs just because they exist or because they belong to some club group they don't like.

The actual flavor of the beverage, referring to its subjective "sweetness" is reflected in the recipe and specific ingredients used, not necessarily what the overall molecular analysis reveals about its contents. Not only that, but that site about Pepsi is wrong. Just looking at a 2L Pepsi bottle, it says 28g of carbs. Pepsi also uses sucrose (regular cane sugar) as well as high fructose corn syrup, whereas Coke only uses the latter. That probably accounts for the difference in flavor, as cane sugar is notably much sweeter in solution than fructose.

He sets it at 2, 3, 4, times the going rate. Is he committing an offense? I am shedding no tears for the ad farmers right now, but the interesting test is yet to come. What about the legitimate advertiser who decides to over price his land figuring that if someone wants to come along and pay for then hell, why not. I know of someone who does something similar. She buys 16m and 32m squares and sets little boxes on them where she sells items. Personally I think stuff like that is junkie looking but we're not talking taste here, right? Anyway, her main purpose is to sell the items in her boxes, but she also sells her little plots of land above the normal price. As I said above, her feeling is that if someone wants to pay for it then sure, but if not, then no big deal. It will be interesting to see how those cases are handled when they come up.

I think he is breaking MORAL rules, but there's a difference in how *I* approach the latter. You can't legislate morality, but you sure as hell can point out and resist falling victim to it. Lampoon it. Educate people about it. That's one reason why I don't think there is a legislative or even a technical solution to freebie resellers. It is a MORAL problem, and the only best way to deal with it is to educate people about them, resist them, lampoon them; SHAME them. From: someone I'm not knocking LL's decision to take action. Are we arguing about soft drinks? Diet Coke or Red Bull here, although I like the sugar free Rock Star in the mornings before I overindulge in coffee.
I know, I know. My family and my doctor are mortified by my caffiene consumption. If I ever slept, I wouldn't need it, but then when would I play on SL?

Since its basically a derivative of fruit juice. Which tastes sweeter than the vanilla in Coke.

Not you, of course, I mean my caffeine consumption. I realized yesterday that every single thing I drank had caffeine in it. Had to break out the spring water today to feel better. It doesn't seem to affect me much, though, other than waking me up in the morning. I can finish a diet coke and go right to sleep at night...lol. I do think I read somewhere before that Coke actually has more sugar than Pepsi already, but Pepsi definitely tastes sweeter.

From: Soji Slade So that is why you literally leaped across the room when you stood up last night. That was funny. I leapt across the room because Rioko had agreed to dance with me and I wanted to get on the poseball before she came to her senses and ran away screaming like all the other women do. Either that or someone needs to work on the dismount animation on the beanbag chair. That thing practically launches you into orbit when you stand up!

Not sure which is sweeter, Coke or Pepsi, but what I can say with something approaching great authority is that Diet Coke AND Diet Pepsi are both charlatans of the soft drinks world. Rubbish, the pair of them.

From: Kalel Venkman ... And there's this obscure new rule that says that any device that extracts your profile image and displays it is now against the Terms of Service, as usage of intellectual property without permission. ... Really! So the visitor counter thing that took my profile pic and put it up for everyone to see was against the TOS? When I first saw that, I felt weird, a sense of violation. But then I laughed it off...after all, my Profile is there for everyone to read. Why should I mind that my picture was now up on the shop wall? I wish I could remember where that was. It had a selection of free sculpties, and also a lot of SL pet animals for sale.

A long time ago, there was a game called Everquest. To talk in group you started the line with /g. To talk to the guild you started with /gu
Then cam World of Warcraft. Talking in group was now /p for party. /g was for talking to the guild.
So there I was, happily killing critteres and somewhere across the world, a few guildmates were in a party doing whatever and talking about their drinks of choice.
Which is the setting for my all time favorite mistell when the guy (who spells worse than I)suddenly announces to the guild: "I like cock"

I have noticed others being launched by that chair. I have never been launched. Granted, of course, I will never again stand up normally from that chair, but before I stated this particular issue I did not have a problem.

Put it together from posts found in the scripting forums here. I'll send you a copy if you like. Even if it is against the TOS. "Breaking the law, We're breaking the law."

I don't remember where that was, but it really creeped a friend of mine out. She TP'd me in because she didn't know it was happening right then. She thought they always had her picture hanging up and she didn't know why or what she should do about it. Once my picture displayed there she understood, but she was pretty freaked out for a bit.

I like to drink two at a time. You got a problem with that? Sorry, that was the glucose, taurine, citric acid, sodium benzoate (to protect taste), ascorbic acid, caffeine, L-carnitine, inositol, milk thistle extract, ester gum, ginko biloba leaf extract, sucralose, guarana seed extract, niacinamide, calcium pantothenate, panax ginseng root extract, riboflavin, pyridoxine hydrochloride and cyanocobalamin talking.
