Yep we could have RL landrights to play bagpipe music and set off fireworlks 24/7 at full volume too.

I wish we did. I'd be out in the yard in my underwear playing the bagpipes and setting off bottlerockets right this second. I hate my neighbors.

Oh NOW I remember why I no longer come to this useless forum and why the SLX forums get much more respect in the way of SL. Thanks for reminding me!
Does this mean we get another one of your "I'm leaving" threads?

I think that was implied as part of the "I'm back to say I am leaving again" post. :P

You're just trying to turn all the girls on now.

If you are playing bagpipes, a kilt is optional, underwear is not. Hand 'em over, Honey.

You can send karma to people? Can you buy it on Ebay? :)

Hey, I wouldn't send *bought* karma - not even to someone I didn't like.

To send karma, you concentrate and reflect on the situation giving rise to the particular flavour required.
Karma mostly just happens on it's own, but sometimes it needs a little push to turn diet karma into the real thing.

Do you cut 16m plots and put ads on them? Just want to know where you are coming from.

no im fine with this particular policy. but Alice was making a joke that Linden Labs can do no harm when passing out new policies, some of them very vague or flip flopping from their previous positions. Many policies encouraging tattling on your neighbors? w t f. There are many victims of all this new governance. and NO IM NOT TALKING ABOUT GRIEFERS OR PEOPLE WHO EXPLOIT THE SYSTEM im talking about innocent people including all the kid avatars that have been harassed. and id bet other policies were just as harmful for some innocent people. its ok if you wanna celebrate ad farms being dealt with im glad to see them go too. But lets not get carried away. There are alot of hard feelings here.

/me looks around wondering what happened to the soft drink thread.

*shrugs*

Last week the supermarket we patronize put Pepsi on sale for a bit less than half what it normally sells for. That's what we bought

This week they'll sell Coke at a seriously discounted price. It's on the shopping list for this morning.

This seems to be a regular thing--Has anyone else noticed it?

/me goes to fridge for morning "boost." Frowns at the selection of light blue cans. Smiles in anticipaton of lower shelf filled with lovely silver and red. . .

What was the purpose of this post?

Why even bother?

Just go there.

Do you think there are a bunch of potentially *respectable* types just lurking here wondering "OMG why isn't there a forums that gets more respect in the way of Sl?" until they see your post buried in this long thread and go "WOW, see I knew there was!"

Unless your real aim is to reduce the number of forums on the internet, if so - good luck

Coffee...need coffee...can you successfully mix cola with coffee and not make it taste like hell's garbage disposal?

I noticed that the stack of 3 big ads on a L$999,999 16m lot next to my place disappeared yesterday. I hadn't contacted or AR'd the owner and they were not next to anyone else's property apart from other long forgotten 16m lots. Perhaps a patrol zapped them or the owner took them down.

I wouldn't consider a $999,999 16M "for sale"

Thats more like saying its "not for sale"

Probably due to a fly-by AR from the Poopmaster. :P

No personal offshore estate? Even Ayn Rand would say: that's not the service provider's problem.
Well put. There's no more restriction to being an Estate owner than to owning Mainland: just cough up the cash. One is perfectly free to make one's island an adfarmers' paradise--and nobody will even complain.

The Mainland has always had restrictions that don't apply to Estates. And for good reason: more than one owner per sim means there has to be some protection of the rights of the landowner not to be griefed by his neighbors--e.g., terraforming a 200m mountain on a 512. Can't do that on (almost all) the Mainland. If you could, nobody would want to own the stuff.

So the visitor counter thing that took my profile pic and put it up for everyone to see was against the TOS?
Right. I've been whining about that for weeks. It's just so damned silly that it's considered IP infringement for a script to use the very same content THAT LL PUBLISHES ON THE WEB FOR THE WHOLE PLANET TO SEE! (As I've mentioned in other threads, this actually had the disturbing effect of making it a violation of the ToS for a script to comply with an avatar's stated desire that certain things be private, like its UUID or "key" because that preference is also part of that web content and otherwise unavailable to a script. So whomever issued an AR against the web picture scripts ended up reducing the privacy of everyone in SL.)

Dunno about the ladies, but the burning vision of your hairy legs in white knee-highs has me plaid all over. He was a bold man who first ate a Haggis.

What's so bad about a roasted sheep's stomach filled with meat and barley? Sounds downright yummy to me! :D
