Hah, if anything he helped popularize it just when it needed it. It was a complete nothing film. Well they relied on the effects to carry the film. And the lightcycle sequence. Then we learned the glow on their suits were done by hand on the negative and not part of the computer animation hyped. But that doesnt mean Tron Guy helped the film any  The recent popularity is in two things: Disney saw Jeff Bridges figure big in people's minds from Iron Man and they wanted to make Tron over with more computer animation and figured Jeff Bridges' resurgence - at the time they made this decision - could attract sufficient attention.Tron Guy should come inworld and make a spiffy young Jeff Bridges av and visit ARMORD for a lightcycle. _____________________

Sorry, it's a game and entertainment. If you are submersed in this game for therapy reasons,,,how freaking healthy can that be? You need to concentrate on making your real life something you can live with instead of running here. THIS IS ENTERTAINMENT!!! Perspective people, this isn't a civil rights issue. |

There are innocent uses for child avatars. If someone can't imagine that, if someone can't see it as something other than dirty and sexual, well... as you say, they may not be a pedofile, but they do have an problem.
To the dirty-minded, all things look dirty. Your crack about "submersed" and "therapy" is an assumption. There can be as many reasons to use a child avatar as there are people. I'm certainly not doing therapy, and I doubt that I am any more "submersed" than you. People project reasons on us, imagine that it's all about sex or it's for therapy. Those "reasons" are just in your head. If "sex" and "therapy" is all you can come up with, it's not my fault. It's your imagination that's limited. However, if those are the only reasons you can imagine, the only motives you can think of, what does that say about you? It would be easy to assert that everyone in SL is there because they don't want to face problems in their RL. It wouldn't be true, but it would be easy to say and to believe. It would be easy to say that everyone in SL is there for the pixel sex. Again, it wouldn't be true, but it would be easy to say. And the less you know about it, the easier it would be to believe. Believing in generalizations like that is just plain lazy. |

And I don't know about you, but *I* am here to be ENTERTAINED! Ya, that. An while there are or can be therapeutic effects for some, it's mostly just fun. Related aside: Do people assume that tinies are all here because they want sex with small animals? While tinies are very different from kids avvies, there is a similar "vibe" with their community. This was very much in evidence at Burning Life, as Raglan Shire was across from Inner Child Camp. They even invaded our camp at one point, which meant tinies and kids dancing in a ball pit. *That* was fun.  Believing in generalizations like that is just plain lazy. I personally believe that any outlet that allows a pedophile to do this is wrong. The problem is in finding a way to enforce this, and it is not limited to SL but exists across the internet. This is the REAL issue here, and you should take it up with your legislators and/or Linden Labs if you feel so strongly about it. That might actually make a difference, as opposed to passing judgment on people based on their avatars, which only obscures the real issue. _____________________

I have created a child shape (a little girl), and have been searching for a good skin to use for her, with minimal success. Some of the skins sold as child avatar skins have breast shadows, which is the last thing I want for a 5/6 year old girl! I'd appreciate any recommendations for a good skin for a little girl, that really looks like a child skin, with or without clothes (the "children" concerned won't want to see themselves with boobs when they get dressed!) The skin shouldn't have obvious makeup. Five year olds don't need to be wearing makeup! My landlord, a friend of mine runs Taylors closet aimed at children. On another account shes done skins for adults (Fire & Ice, I modelled for them), I'll suggest she does kid skins. As far as child avs- well, I sincerely doubt a 15 year old on sl illegally would want to use an av that looks 15. They'd want to be an adult. |
