Good Child Skins

Well, I feel like an idiot now... This was the place I meant to mention!

It's a world where you are (with some legal restrictions) only limited by your own imagination.

I guess I already know what your SL experience is like.

I can tell you what I do. I don't know whether it will work for little-child avatars, but I think it's worth a try.

My avatar is supposed to be 15, and I buy my skins in ordinary skin stores, looking for ones with minimal or no makeup. This one is "Stella" from Adora.

You need to shop carefully, though. I have some skins in my inventory that were advertised as "no makeup" but they have raccoon eyes.

For me, the truly no-makeup skin that looks as natural as I want is a kind of holy grail.

I ignore the breast-shading issue on the skins, since no one sees that part of me. The hard part is finding clothes that don't have breast shading, because you can go down to a zero breast and still look stacked because of the shading on the chest area of your clothes.

I have slightly different concerns about my skins because I am a neko/kitsune. I do not worry about breast shading because, like Julianne said, nobody will see that part of my skin anyway. When you are a striped cat you have more latitude on what you can do ... I use the same skin whether playing an adult or a kid (fun to switch in the middle of a conversation). The only makeup is around the eyes, which is a pain, but again with a non human character it is hard to know what to expect.

Now if only they would let you shrink the ears down to 0 or replace them.

I streak. So, all shaders are of value. Which is why I went to custom skins. =^-^=

Speaking of shading on skins...

What I don't get is furry avatar creators who spend a huge amount of effort detailing fluffy fur and then ruin the effect by baking skin and muscle tone in. It just looks incongruous.

I still really rate Yummy Kids skins..... apart from our own, they're the only ones i would consider buying ....in fact i did buy 4 tones a couple of years back to use for my Kid Shape display boards.

They're perfect examples of what's WRONG with some residents in SL.

Well screw you and other bigots. Some people are here to explore their innocence. They have as much a right as you for being here.

You want someone to respect your alternate existence? Remember that SL is a big place and it isn't all for walking milk tanks (nice BBS pic Sunny. What do you do for the backaches?) and masquerading minors (or Ciera do you just spell like a 14 year old?). Point being neither of you have anything better to offer to the conversation or the subculture you've intruded on. Move along to your target audiences instead of being mindless bullies looking for targets. You get respect when you learn to respect others. The Internet is a diverse place and not like where you apparently come from.

How about Inner Child Depot? It's a sim-sized mall for kid stuff. Wouldn't they have a good selection?

I tend to ignore those silly type of comments after having engaged in 50-Page thread on Xstreet Forums regarding child avatars on Zindra. (those lands on Zindra that do not have Adult-sex stuff)

There's an entire sim, called "Fletcher" I believe, that is a mall called, "Inner Child" ... several shops there dealing in skins and shapes.

Often, there you'll meet other people intrested in fun without the sexuality.... quite fun and refreshing.

Yeah, I have a rental spot at ICD for the last 2.5 years .There are other Malls like Kids World mall, Kids Place mall on Yarna sim, Kids Prinz mall, Tindra's Treasure mall. Tiny Tykes mall...to name but a few.

This is one of the few child-avatar-related threads that has given me a good laugh, and I really appreciate it.

I've wanted to say for a while that if you're going to use a child avatar in SL, you need to have a very thick skin.

Unless, I suppose, you stick to the kid-friendly sims and don't read the forum!

It's good to have a thread that's 98-99% positive for a change.

Hah, if anything he helped popularize it just when it needed it. It was a complete nothing film.

When you have decided on a skin, drop by my store and you can pick out some shoes and clothing designed for child avis. My kids shoes are specially made to be a third smaller than the size zero foot, and scaled for realism. I'd be happy to give you some stuff, and I have a kids starter pack of shoes free too.

all I made was a statement. and you all turned it into some HUGE ordeal. Your pathetic and predictable. your stabbing at windmills. I could care less. As long as kiddies avs stay off my sims. I'm good with that. You can do whatever you want elsewhere, just dont jeapordize adult areas or play. its that simple.

In fact I spent the weekend in the camp at BM and it was rather fun. Although im sorry about the flat tires on the Ihaul there... oops.
