There's a lot of wonderful food in Britain. Summer puddings, game, street cart Indian, I could go on. But sandwiches ... Doug Adams outed the country on that one:
From: someone
There is a feeling which persists in England that making a sandwich interesting, attractive, or in any way pleasant to eat is something sinful that only foreigners do.

Actual conversation I had with my Grandfather (a man who spent his entire life working in underground coal mines) before he died.

GF: Chris, a man should always have flowers around his house. They show color when most of the world is black.

Me: You planted all these flowers?

GF: (with a small grin) Nope, but I dug the holes for the old lady to put them in.

Since they both passed away, I have always had a stand of transplanted Tiger Lilies taken from their yard. And I always will as long as I have the space to plant them.

Nice story!

And then they die very quickly.

Pep (More interested in less ephemeral things.)

You're in a funny mood today! Got a stomach ache, or something?

Whatever is an arising thing is also a ceasing thing - and that's everything.

You're making me think of the British economy - suspended with no visible means of support. It's very depressing.

FALSE.

The feeling of an interminable canker on the tastebuds, the revulsion that won't go away, the glue like consistency of evil that coats your mouth. The unanswered prayer the bread will clense the palette.

Oh yes, it's more than a little possible to be miserable when eating one of those things.

I strongly agree with that.

/me munches her banana sandwich with brown bread.

Now what was this thread about...

ah yes, groups and profiles.

Answer: - possibly.

I do read profiles and look at the groups. Mostly I write notes on what the person asked for and what they bought and what I did or made for them...and whether they paid.

Oh, how funny. When other people 'haz a sad', it does not stop him from his usual rapid fire personal attacks and insults.

But yet someone cares that he "haz a sad".

Boggles my mind.
