.... I certainly wasn't implying that you would try to dupe Persnicketty.

[/me waits to see if the object of her comment corrects this to "pernickety".]

But can't you spell names any way you want?

I debated on Persnicketty, Persnippety, and Picayuney as my special name for The Pepatollah.

No, clearly not. But the Pepatollah is appropriate for the OP.

Ah, hell...Someone has gathered that you were offended by my attempting to correct your spelling. If you were or weren't, I will make a plain statement: Penny, I was NOT correcting you! I was commenting on the said person's patronizing penchant for preferring perfection over philanthropy in the form of passively permitting people's preferences to prevail.

In other words, the "original" spelling was "pernickety" while he "usual" spelling is "persnickety". BOTH are correct, which was the whole point! {see any good dictionary}

[and since you capitalized the thing as a name, you are fully entitled to put as many t's in it as you wish and still be correct!]

So there!

{I personally think Pepatollah says it quite well.]

But you know, I think we're really being unkind. Obviously Persnippity is distraught over this heinous person's attempt to dupe him. He was so perplexed he had to come right to the fora (wouldn't want to be incorrect on tenses here) and post a thread asking for what he needed to do to combat this terrible person. He's even considering filing a report...and wouldn't you love to hear the laughs coming out of LL? They don't get involved in residents cheating each other, stealing, or even identity theft, but they will hunt down with malice aforethought this evil minx who tried to seduce poor Pep.

Uh huh.

However, I digress. We should be showing a little sympathy and common decency for our fellow poster who is so traumatized.

Who is first? SHOW SOME SYMPATHY PEOPLE! THIS IS THE INTERNET FOR THE LOVE OF GOD! THIS STUFF IS REEEEEAL HURTFUL TO THE DELICATE SENSIBILITIES OF SOME.

I'm through now. Next.

[Heart flutters dangerously]

I wish I were a Neko, now, so I could add a long Purrrrrrrr to that alliterative string.

[I already loved you....Yesterday you replaced a Westie for my main!]

... I am afraid that I am always wary of trojans bearing gifts and IMd back suggesting that there was a 75% chance of the person actually being a male masquerading as a female, and probably one of those who had been upset by me yesterday, a 20% chance of it being a female who had been upset by me, and a 5% chance of it being a genuine.

On contacting this person inworld I invited them to disprove the first hypothesis by entering voice...
Anybody who refuses to do voice wins points with me.

(As for the rest of the question: Meh.)

It must really be sad to be that distrustful, to have so many people gunning for you, to not know just exactly who is coming to get you.

Yes, paranoia strikes deep.

That should be "number" not "tense". Tense = past/present/future. Number = Singular, plural.

And I'm not even a linguist :-)
