From: Tanika Goodspeed 3L$ per adspot x 9 available rentable spots x 1000 adspots (all in different sims) x 30 days = 810, 000 L$ / month (note this is a maximum and not the average tho its happens enough throughout the year)
300K avg - tier - business tools - yearly renewal - land purchases - R&D = 150k avg per month saved. Cashouts happen in June & Decemeber. 150k+ L$ per month gets put into the company alt and saved.
150K L$ x 6 months = 900k / approx 265 = 3396 USD in June and Dec. France, Greece, Germany, Italy... I will take my pick!
Are there anymore questions about how it is done. It is not easy, I do not adfarm! It took a year of hard work and diligence to get here, finding 1 adspot at a time.
Funny how my previous post got deleted by the OP... I wonder why? I really can't quite resist .... 3L$ per adspot ... from where? Who pays that? And is that per month as you said at the start of the message or per day? Is that per click? Per passing AV? Or just to have it floating there? x 9 available rentable spots. Well on a 16m parcel you sit 3 boxes. You could put a picture on every face for 18. Or one on all the sides (more usual) for 12 adspots. But most often it's the same picture on all of them or just 3 different ones. So 1 or 3. x 1000 different ad spots. Um. Yeah if you say so I guess it must be true! Then somehow you blend 150KL$ with some unknown variables including a 300KL$ that appears from nowhere and magically 150KL$ appears in your account monthly. Um. Yeah ok. If you say so it must be true! Oh I see the 300KL$ is the average per month .. so it must be some kind of pay per click thing? And finally some USD appears out of the end. ... At least that bit looks roughly mathematically correct ... Even if we still are no closer to anything that leads to the mystical 900,000L$ figure. And ... no ... I can't delete posts ...

I dont cut land
I dont sell land unless I have got a better location in the same sim, i sell for under 5k if I do
[...]
I do...
-sell advertising space
-work with reasonable neighbors to find an equatable solution for the both of us, and work with other groups in sl that wanna better nicer looking SL.
-work toward doing wat I do better and thats not saying more money better but ppl relations better.
[...]
I work on ideas that I can use to advertise that are not as unwelcome.
you don't cut ? hoppefully other ones are doing that job for you.. you sell under 5K ? no you don't, you didn't want to sell me yours near my land and didn't propose any solution for it. and if you sold it to me it would have been 10k not less. i proposed 1000l$ for it you declined the offer. "work with reasonable neighbors", no you don't, you accused me of greifing and told me you're gonna file an AR (after i already moved a bit my trees). i think i am a "reasonable neighbourgh" as i own about 20000sqm of land near your addspot, my only goal is to make this place even better and just wanted to talk with you about your add. no spining adds and laggy scripts ? well i don't see any difference with 3 ugly rotating add boxes in the air and 3 ugly add boxes in the air... and scripts are not always "laggy" i use a lot of scripts and my sim is still running fine. you work on ideas ? how about beguining by putting your adds on ground level with well designed signs ? i'll stop there, enjoy "your" sl.

Hey up I think I've almost got it... Lets assume it really is a pay per click thing, and that all of the ad boxes are scripted correctly and running fine with current paying advertisers. Lets say it is 3L$ per click through shall we? And 3 Ads per parcel And ok we'll run with that 1,000 plots figure. So if every single one of the ads got clicked in a day... 3 x 3 x 1000 = 9,000L$ x 30.42 = 273,750L$ if they all get clicked every day for a month. (30.42 = 365/12 in case you were wondering) Except they aren't all clicked every day. In fact probably only a few % get clicked. So lets be real generous and assume you get 5% of them clicked every day. Woo 13,687.5 L$ a month! So that's 82,125L$ every six months or 82,125 / 268 = 306$ for six months. But ... that's 16,000 sq m of land your sitting on. So that's something like 75$ a month in land costs! Ooops ... take away 450$ ... Oh! Where did all that money go? The astute reader will observe that in order to make ends meet therefore, selling a few 16m plots for 10,000L is essential. Potential ad farmers may also wish to cancel those tickets to France. [And Lindal Read back a few pages you missed a spot.]

From: Fluf Fredriksson Except they aren't all clicked every day. In fact probably only a few % get clicked. But maybe some get clicked more than once. (I mean, in a high traffic area, folks will click stuff by accident, just trying to move their cam around with the wrong modifier keys. Of course, on the other hand, most of the ads are along Linden roads, which are no-man's land now.) As for the tier, the cited figures are subtracting out L$150K/mo for what appear to be operating expenses, including tier. But for 16Km2, the tier is US$75, which as you point out, eats more than that all by itself. I'd more or less given up on this thread, but cited these financials in another thread, without doing any scrutiny myself. uh... oops. Oh, idle observation: with three prims, one can expose at least 21 rectangular faces (slight variation on the xyText prism approach) but nobody's doing that... and more importantly, if clickthru is involved, there's only 3 possible advertisers at any instant. (AFIAK--claims to the contrary notwithstanding--there's no reliable way to divine which face of a prim was touched, given the vagaries of camera position.)

If you want to run advertising, do it in a responsible way, Classifieds, Websites, flyers, Group notices, whatever. But Setting up 200 meter long stretches of spinning cubes offering XXX porn and "banking services" is not responsible. No matter how you 'cut' it.

But Setting up 200 meter long stretches of spinning cubes offering XXX porn and "banking services" is not responsible. I believe that she does behave responsibly. Yesterday I bought land that adjoined one of those 16 m^2 plots. My land contained 2 panels that blocked the view of her ads from one side. I met with her, and we negotiated an arrangement where I removed the blocking panels and she raised the ad cubes a little. Her cubes don't spin and don't look ugly. In fact, they're less intrusive than some space debris and outrageous buildings in our lovely valley in Ukanipo. I think some posters have seen disgusting ad farms and tarred all advertisers with the same brush. Advertising can be done well (Ok, I still like the Gecko, but the cavemen are getting tiresome.) or it can annoy, but if it didn't serve a purpose, it wouldn't thrive in RL or SL. Probably, many of you want a device to, in effect, TiVo past the ads: make them invisible. I'm new to the lovely valley, and I'm still trying to figure out what I want our neighborhood to look like. Not a RL suburb, although there are some very nice areas in SL that do look that way, using restrictive covenants. No, I think SL communities can look a bit more outlandish than RL without my getting upset. And, regarding her vacations, I feel that she earned them with hard work and initiative. I guess if we don't have dragons to fight in SL, we just fight each other.
