From: Raudf Fox Easily enough. They are basing the characters on RL kids. RL kids do NOT think this way, so they can't/won't either. How do I know how an RL child thinks? I'm a parent RL side and if one of my six year old child's friends started all the sexual dirty talking, I'd be having a chat with their parents and/or DHS. And if it's my child... well, a long chat followed by a very long grounding would follow.
They are role playing a part, just like your favorite actor/actress would be. They have studied this role as thoroughly as the actors/actresses, in order to keep it 'realistic.' I'm also sure that once the user is done, they simply shut off the child-character and go back to being RL adults.
Now I'll flip the coin, why should SL kids behave like SL/RL adults, when Linden Labs has decreed that doing such is a bannable offense? Lets simply set aside the fact that in RL many countries forbid even the depiction of child sex. its comical to me that you feel compelled to give credentials on your authority about what goes on inside the mind of a real life child. its funny because you dont have any more authority on it then anyone else in the entire world. everyone has a childhood and youre opinion isnt more valid then anyone else in that regard. its also funny because you just said you understood the players behind the avatars were not real life children but you insist on treating the players as if they were and pushing childrens rules onto adults. That is ridiculous. Not everyone who has a child avatar in sl is roleplaying a part. Some are actually practicing age regression. You really have no right to tell other adults how to express themselves in sl. You have no right to tell other players how to use their child avatars. Just because you are roleplaying doesnt mean everyone is. And you cant force other players to rp it to the degree you want to. Some people are not capable of that type of immersion to roleplay it to that extent. Not everyone who plays a little in sl wants to be "realistic" thats only your opinion and no offense but who really cares what you think. Do what you want and leave other grown ups alone. stop talking about bannable offenses because threats dont mean much to me and thats not what im discussing. anyone can say dont do something because youll get banned but that doesnt address what i talking about. Thats just bullying and skirting the issue altogether. "Do it because i say so" didnt work when i really was a kid in rl and its not working now.

Yeah, you know, this is why I'd rather talk to rocks. I like discussions, but not pointless arguments.
Age regression - role play. Not much difference, from what I read. One requires the use of hypnotherapy to regress back to childhood, from what I'm reading while the other is purely imagination. Either way, you're an adult RL, but being a child in one form or another. The rest, I no longer care.
SL Age players/regressionists are always welcome at my shop, just behave like proper kids and not adults, k?
Speaking of, where can I find a decent, really pale kid skin? My neko is a pale blonde and if she were to get a child form, I'd like an equally pale dolly-kid skin. Tried Robin's but, not pale enough.

one reason I lub being a kid av is I can be painfully honest hehe
having opinions isnt relegated jus to dult avs.... if ya aint been a kid, and many havent even in RL I suspect, yur missing tons of fun... BTW my original av would be 4 years old nex month and was a kid av an never seen any sex in SL unless I looked for it, which I thought was hilarious hehe...
Another thing that bothers me is the new age verification, which I will not apply for, it would jus make a kid av to appear to be lookin for icky stuff.
hey Mar !!! Im back, this is the ole Toy an could you IM me about the winter camp inworld?

Im sure such a great argument can allso be used in the myriad of "men shouldnt play female avatars" threads. It would finally put everything in place. On a slightly different note why would you ground your child for doing something they dont even know was wrong before you had the long chat? This isnt a parenting board but I just found that statement odd.

they arent kids.
They are adults.
They are Roleplaying as kids.
Treat them with all the respect and consideration you would an adult.
Roleplay with them the kid stuff if you want, I think they would prefer it.
But don't act like a 11 year old avatar is going to be shocked by things a 30 year old avatar wouldn't be.
Don't try and act like becuase they are a kid avatar they have less rights than you do.
If you wouldn't report an adult AV for belonging in a certain group - then don't AR the kid AV.

I do know the difference between the user and the character and treat each accordingly. Note: I said character for this reason. *mutters* It's so much easier in other places such as MU* and MMORPGs, where we have tags like OOC: or (()) to let us know when someone decides to break their character. I thought this was about how just the character should act. *sigh* Thanks for polite clarification, Colette! You're a doll!

The fact is if the person is indeed a minor then its in violation of SL's ToS.
If in fact it's an adult who has an avatar that resembles someone young, then unfortunately there is nothing you can do about it. Some grown men enjoy the notion of sleeping with young girls, even though they would never engage in such activity, However even in RL you find married men going to prostitutes and want them to dress all girlie so they can play out their fantasies. You can't prevent that. That is life.

Thanks for polite clarification, Colette! You're a doll! Actually I was sure you knew the difference and you were not arguing for treating the players like RL kids (outside of RP) ------------------------- I was more making a general statement. There are many people who don't make the distinction sadly and think that RP kids should only be afforded the privileges of RL kids. I would include the OP in that assessment.

You can't prevent that. That is life. Well actually Sexual ageplay is banned from Second Life. Theres no mention of it in the TOS/CS , its just something that is banned. The problem that presents is people knowing about the ban do not know how to proceed. Leading to threads like this one. ---------------------------- For those wishing to report this activity .... **In my opinion** this is how the ban should be handled... If you know about a kid AV sex club, then report it. If you know about a kid sex AV group (as in the SL structured group), then report the Group, not the members. If a child Av solicits sex to you, then report it. If a adult solicits sex from you when you are a Kid AV, then report it. If you walk in on a child AV having sex in a public place or on your land, Make damn sure its not just a small adult AV and then report the kid AV and any cybersex partners. In all other cases .. just mind your own business. ------------------- For those not wishing to report the activity .. just mind your own business.

I sometimes use the makeup-less Sin Skins freebie skin I got in the palest skintone, which looks fine -unfortunately it's only available for under 30 days old avatars....(It's a whole pack of skins). Maybe ask Portia Sin about it? (and, uh, i just ignore the "bits"-my kid isn't running around nekkid anyway)

(and, uh, i just ignore the "bits"-my kid isn't running around nekkid anyway) One of the other thoughts that comes to mind, to me, is a doll skin. I saw some tonight in a store called, I believe, "A Dolls Place" -- I could be wrong on that. If you can't find it and want to, IM me -- they did have some as white as porcelain in there, as well as a few shades up from there. Mari
