ONLINE 78,329 Well ain't that bloody marvelous ... Premium Member with high Land Tier denied access to SL, whilst a ferkin noob sat on a camp chair or picking a dollar bill can stay online and logged-in. Well noob, please enjoy your FREE LUNCH that I am paying for ! Yesterday I had the same thing, high server load, tried again and logged in. So WHAT that you pay all sorts of stuff to SL, having a premium membership doesn't get you in front for logging in. So you think you have more rights to play this game, just because you pay for it? Interesting, you must be lonely. _____________________

Jack, if they do ever decide to make logins "Premium only" when the grid is borked, you can have my slot. I'm an "older and wiser" premium account member and when LL says the grid is borked, it is royally borked by my standards. I don't WANT on a borked grid. Been there, done that and the totally gray world with it's occasionally colored (not textured) prim is... well, gray and boring.
And yes, I have snapshots of it. The grid was DOWN, not just login-impaired. Beta grid was stuffed to the crashing point with 5k people. In my day, 5k was the most that could get online.. not. It was more like 4k, but LL wanted to stretch to 5k. Back then, updates consisted of bringing the grid completely down on a Wednesday (or whenever the heck they felt like it) and doing the update. Then for the next two days, we'd deal with crashing, asset borked and such. And for the weekend we had these lovely gray goo attacks that would crash the grid in their self-replication across the entire continent. That's right, one continent. SL is much better about all of those these days. You newbs have it sooo much easier! *waits for a 2003 to put her in HER place age-wise* _____________________

So you think you have more rights to play this game, just because you pay for it? If someone else is NOT paying ANYTHING and I AM, then yes, I think I would have more rights to play it because I pay... being that if no one paid anything, would there even be a game to play?? _____________________

If we're talking dollar value here... Yeah... I paid a little monies to LL. But, as for true value to the grid, I'm pretty much a leech. While I AM a land owning premium member, I don't spend monies on L$ and I'm not paying additional tier since my parcel is only a 512m. (^_^)
That said, LL gains very little from my being here. In fact, the way I see it, I'm having fun at their expense. And there are plenty of freebie noobs that make a greater contribution to the grid than I ever will. (^_^)y _____________________

If someone else is NOT paying ANYTHING and I AM, then yes, I think I would have more rights to play it because I pay... being that if no one paid anything, would there even be a game to play?? If you're saying Premium deserves more well they do and they recieve it.... stipend, live chat help and the right to own land on the mainland. Otherwise premium gets no further perks. That is what you pay for. Now, I would say if you premium members who feel they deserve more, maybe go to enterprise membership. I was premium over 4 years but decided I was not in need of it. I pay no premium or tier, or rent and I do not miss the stipend, live chat help or ML land option. If you feel you deserve more take it up with LL they set what memberships there will be, not premium members. _____________________

/me looks up at the sky and whistles a merry tune ... if only they knew this "noob" was originally here from 2005 and remembers the DownDate on a Wednesday, the borked grid for days after and the shut-downs most weekends fixing the cr@p ... oh well, the good old days of 12,000 online ... but sh*t, Jack is a noob ... how dare he raise a valid point that Premium members are paying for the noobs ... and the idea back in early 2008 when LL suggested having priority-logins for premium members ...

The sky? Oh... it is still up there and as far I can see it will stay a long time up there. I am premium myself, but I don't consider that I am paying for "noobs". "Noobs" buy linden, spend it in shops, rent land and so on. "Noobs" are just important for SL as Premium players. They will be the big spenders, content makers of the future. Yeah, case them away.... And as said already more then once... we all have been noobs once, including wise guy Mr Jack. And 2005? Not a big deal... points aside at her rez-date. Morwen |

/me looks up at the sky and whistles a merry tune ... if only they knew this "noob" was originally here from 2005 and remembers the DownDate on a Wednesday, the borked grid for days after and the shut-downs most weekends fixing the cr@p You were the person who started a thread with the title of "Ban the Noob!!" Your join date is irrelevant. People are judging you by what you posted; not how long you have been here. And back in 2005, you were a "noob" too. So was I. So effing what? Well ain't that bloody marvelous ... Premium Member with high Land Tier denied access to SL, whilst a ferkin noob sat on a camp chair or picking a dollar bill can stay online and logged-in. Well noob, please enjoy your FREE LUNCH that I am paying for ! New Resident does not equal free account. There are plenty of people who join as a Premium members, or quickly upgrade after a week or two. Additionally, new residents (as a group) are the people who are going to spend the most money in world, as they purchase clothes, skins, hair, land, houses, furniture, etc. how dare he raise a valid point that Premium members are paying for the noobs ... and the idea back in early 2008 when LL suggested having priority-logins for premium members ... Premium residents... and island owners, and people who buy L$ on the Lindex. Of course, many of those people paying the bulk of LL's income couldn't do so if it were not for the fact that non-Premium members are paying them for their goods and services in world. From the camping newbie to the charter member content baron, Second Life is a complex and interconnected economy. _____________________
