If you were supplying your own server instead of renting someone else's, you might have a point. You knew what you were getting into leasing land on Second Life instead of hosting your own on osGrid.

I doubt you're paying LL for a constant access. You are getting what you payed for.... Premium acct= live chat help and access to own mainland..... nothing more. Tier you are getting what you payed for, nothing more. I doubt if anyone feels sorry for you ( Have a nice day)

They disable logins means there is something wrong and that nobody can get in. I could forsee if they offered it for prem members but they do not and how would that work if the asset db has went down? login and everything remained grey?? no thanks on that, I like how they do it. there fair about it.

Yes nowhere is it stated or implied that being a premium member entitles you to priority grid access. On the "benefits list", it says you get access to live chat help, and the ability to own parcels of land.

Sorry, Jack. It wasn't a noob. I was in your "slot" on the grid. Maybe it's my two years of seniority an my monthly tier, I dunno.

Seriously, though, it cuts both ways. Unless yer name is Steller Sunshine (or Philip Linden, for that matter), then someone will always have seniority here. Besides, like's too short to worry about who is on and who isn't, an who "deserves" more because of their age or holdings.

The new residents drive the SL economy. If you want to blame someone, aim your anger at the owners of campbots. Or even Linden Lab for still not getting SL to scale right.

If LL elimanted traffic stats a lot of these problems would be eliminated. I have no idea why they are hanging on to traffic as it really means nothing anymore.

Too much of the code can be relying on it for functions. It's shown in several places, would be curious to know how many server side functions rely on it for data and processes

Theory 1: LL recognizes that once people learn to ignore the first five or ten bot and camper-driven results, Traffic is a reasonably useful measurement of popularity.

Theory 2: LL recognized if they eliminate Traffic, people stop running campbots and their cool maximum concurrency figure drops by 10,000, and someone has to explain to M Linden what happened.
