I never take anything said in a forum personally.

Life's too short for most folks to let some letters on a screen ruin their lives. For me, life's not short, but there's always something better to do than have to get into an "eat people" mode over some words.

I’ve had ‘women’ hitting on me, and whan I polite answear “thanks dear, but I prefer men”, they quickly respond they’re male RL and will log on their male AV in just a minute. (bah) I also think that many of the women who are easy 'picked up' in dungeons and clubs are men who will see graphic porn. Not all of course, but some.

I’m such a girl who could be interested in a male dragon, but I wouldn’t be so blunt that I outright IM’ed him and suggested it. I would more try to be friends with him, see how he typed and then start to flirt to see if he was interested. Numerous studies have been done that prove that Americans want and grant more personal space than people in Europe and Asia - who are comfortable with less. I don't know how that translates into a video game though.

Nope. Also, there's people who are just pretty good at concealing their true gender. However I've yet to meet anyone who has crowded me on sight who has been a girl on voice, put it that way.

Desmond is a boy avatar of course so I can see how he would find people standing AWAY from him the case. Men playing women are generally not gay (I guess some are bi), and the same was always true on IRC, in my experience they were just looking for ANY action anonymously that could be of interest to them.

This is just my opinion based on what's happened, my own observed patterns. I have my tests when I want to test it which are pretty watertight. Of course, there are still some who slip through the filter and tbh unless I am intending to be close to them it doesn't matter.

I have to agree with Phil to the degree that I *do* encounter many people (male & female) in SL that think just because they have a "hawt" AV (and of course there's another rub - beauty is in the eye of the beholder) they are really something. Maybe they have a personality and brain behind the cartoon, but if they're just counting on their AV to be "popular" - it may work in the short term, but not over time.

Are you clean? Honest? Brave? Good with kids? Smart?

If you don't believe me, then tell me why so many beautiful women are married to unattractive men? No, I'll tell YOU: We love them for what they are, and who they are, and how they make us feel.

In SL terms, that means that you could wear your default noob avatar and still have a chance with the most glammed-up female avvie prim goddess.
