Ah the irony. I made a place, everyone loved it, no one stayed long if they went there cos it was empty (moral = start small not on 1/2 an island).

Steely - avoid public sex areas like the ones you listed. They're icky and weird. It doesn't sound like you're looking for some sort of long-term gf/bf kind of relationship here, so why don't you try this: Get yourself looking good. Nice skin, nice clothes, good hair, etc. Go out dancing. You seem pretty outgoing. Read some profiles and if you see someone who is interesting, ask her to dance. Then mention whatever you saw in her profile that interested you - it's something you likely have in common. If you like her, see where things go from there. The worst thing that can happen is she refuses to dance with you, in which case, you really aren't all that damaged. The second worse thing is that you dance with someone, have a little conversation, and nothing comes of it, in which case, you spent some time having fun and meeting someone new.

There really isn't any legitimate downside, and you avoid the ugliness of the public sex areas.
