For me personally, anyone in 20 sex groups with names that can't even be mentioned on the forums, or someone without at least a picture in their profile isn't going to get any response.

Other pet-peeves: people that look like they just walked off OI, people who can't spell ("u r pretty", people who try to delve into RL with the first question ("where are you from?", or act like they're in dire need of a few icecubes down the front of their pants.

I know that sounds terribly haughty , but they are things that willl either discourage me from keeping on talking with someone.

Cool, that is good advice. I walk into a room and there is a bunch of dudes walking around looking like coat hangers. I can't imagine how that would get most women interested. Although, it has worked before.

I like to weave a complex web of backstories and half truths and sit in the middle of it like a spider waiting for a fly.

Apparently it works for Conan about 15% of the time. Nothing works for me. I'm hopeless. I just hang out and act like me. That's enough to repulse most people, but the ones who stick around turn out to be the most interesting people.

Actually neighbour of a client whose land I spend alot of time building on lol.. but I was building and she literally came to the window naked and seemed to be staring at me o.o

People come up and ask "A/S/L?" They're asking your Age/Sex/Location, like in the RL chat rooms. It's considered really lame by most people here.

As more people leave the old school chat rooms for Second Life, it is becoming more common.
