Mature Room Etiquette?

I sometimes like to cruise the mature areas of SL for a little adult role-play. However, I am pretty new to this sort of thing.

My first concern is that I want to be polite and not offend anyone. I don't have pickup lines and I can't stand the guys I see who just walk up to someone and say, "Hi, wanna f**k?"

Sometimes I show up and just say, "Hey, how's everyone doing today?" and get promptly ignored. Sometimes I just stand around and wait for someone to talk to me. Sometimes that works.

I notice in a lot of places people are just standing around saying nothing; or are they IM'ing each other and I just don't know it?

Do you IM someone or wait to be invited to IM them?

When you do find someone to play with, do you talk dirty in-world or IM?

Women get hit on every 30 seconds. I don't want to be one of those guys. I want to have fun and I want the one I'm playing with to have fun too.

So, whatever suggestions you all might have would be greatly appreciated. I especially want to hear from the ladies because their perspective is important to me.

Same protocols as in RL, dear. Start by introducing yourself. Make light conversation and see if you have any common interests. If things click, proceed from there.

It really depends on the place you are at. Always read the profile before you approach a person. That will give you some clue. A friendly hello in IM is always a good start. If you are approached in open Chat, go with it.

In a bar/club dance and talk a few minutes. You would be really surprised at the number of women who have never really been flirted with.

Of course it helps if you are as good looking and smooth as I am.

hmmm well me personally (Not for quite the same type of place, but not too far off.. Bondage Ranch and the like), if I see someone I'd like to talk with.. I compliment their av...ususally in IM simply to avoid cluttering the main chat further.

From there.. I try to make conversation lol....

I don't frequent these venues alone any more, but women respond to someone who is real, who isn't trying too hard. Someone who can have a normal conversation. Personally, I'm not much for the IM thing right away. Makes me think a guy is too eager. Unless he winds up having some amazing line.

I'd always preferred when men approached me in open conversation first, see where it led from there. Then I'm more approachable for more private conversation. I like knowing I had something in common with the person, some rapport.

And whatever you do, don't walk around naked with your shoes and socks on. Ugh.

What you need are some really dynamite pick up lines. Try these:

I've never actually tried any of those, but I imagine they should work quite well. Please save the chat log when you try them and send it to me for further analysis.

After being invited to the Forum Cartel, I can attest that Chris is good looking and smooth. I couldn't get him to flirt with me, though. I think that he's really shy underneath all that bluster!

They have about a 15% success rate I find. Throw enough shit at a wall, though, and some will stick. My advice to the OP is to just hit on as many women as possible and the laws of probability suggest he will eventually find a willing one. This also works in real life too.

Are you looking for friendship that might lead to sex or, are you a little impatient and looking for a good f**k as soon as possible? It depends on what you are looking for. Maybe you are in the wrong area... Where have you been "cruising"?

Yeah, that's more my style. I think "pickup lines" are stupid. They make you look insincere and it looks like you think the lady is stupid enough to just swoon if you say the right words.

Also don't walk around with your zipper open (or god forbid no pants) unless you're RP'ing being a novelty coat hanger.

For me personally, anyone in 20 sex groups with names that can't even be mentioned on the forums, or someone without at least a picture in their profile isn't going to get any response.

Other pet-peeves: people that look like they just walked off OI, people who can't spell ("u r pretty", people who try to delve into RL with the first question ("where are you from?", or act like they're in dire need of a few icecubes down the front of their pants.

I know that sounds terribly haughty , but they are things that willl either discourage me from keeping on talking with someone.

You'll be a lot more approachable if you're comfortable and 'being you' than making everything up every second. All I make up about my av is backstory.. the personality is me in truth.
