Armistice Day stayed true to it's original intent until the 1950's, although Eisenhower was pushing for a Veteran's Day after WWII. He was finally able to get it when he was elected President. nice dedication, Brenda. where is that? and thanks for the history lesson of how this holiday came to pass. |

It just dawned on me - today is Veteran's day here in the US and my stepson got on a plane in the wee hours of this morning to fly to Germany for a 2-yr Army active duty assignment -- and hopefully that is as close to any action that he gets.
