So long as we are on a "women at war" theme . . .

Me as a ministering angel at the Western Front, the new sim promoting the WWI Poets Archive online. (Very cool, but rather overburdened with competing mixed media).

And then I asked myself three question. Why are you here?
I wonder what beneficial purpose you might conceivably serve, but not for long.
From: Rhonda Huntress
What are you looking for?
Female approbation, it's fairly obvious.
From: Rhonda Huntress
What have you found?
That you seem to like fat thighs?

Pep (Don't keep yourself awake at night worrying about more complex answers, will you.)

/me wonders if they will mention that Wilfrid Owen initially dedicated "Dulce et decorum est" to the despised rabidly pro-war poet Jessie Pope "If you too could pace behind . . . "

Pep (Jessie Pope was female.)

I thought you were going on about linebacker thighs?

The plot thickens!

It appears your uncontrollable desire for 80's Raiders linebackers actually takes the twenty something years of aging into account - hence your reference to amorphous blobs in a post last week.

Huh.

(It also could explain your scat fetish.)

Hmmm. Didn't know that (i.e., that it had been dedicated to her). What the hell was he thinking??

I had some problems activating the spoken-word version of Dulce et Decorum (my all-time favourite "war" poem by my all-time favourite "war poet";) at the sim: it would run for about 30 seconds, and then stop. There are also too many media streams running simultaneously on the sim, and many of them are triggered with what I assume are collision scripts, so you find yourself inundated with a barrage of spoken voice, when you don't necessarily want that.

ETA: Jessie Pope is bad enough, but in Canada, we have to deal with endless dreary renderings of McCrae's "In Flanders Fields," a poem I well and truly despise. Ick.

He was being sarcastic.

Pep (Something that it apparently requires you to live *this* side of the Atlantic to appreciate.)

PS Perhaps you could explain what Love is meandering on about aimlessly? She seems to have a problem understanding the difference between me (Raiders), Rhonda (linebacker thighs) and 3Ring (coprophilia).

Pep (Something that it apparently requires you to live *this* side of the Atlantic to appreciate.)

According to the ODNB, it was dedicated initially to Pope, then to "A certain poetess," and finally to "A friend." My suspicion is that the changes were made precisely because he was afraid that his (British) readers wouldn't appreciate the sarcasm.

Well, I think what she means is . . .

Hang on. Are you being sarcastic???? ;)

Oh, thank you!!! I'm not sure why you would think this shows depth -- I usually FEEL pretty shallow -- but it's a sweet thing to say, regardless! :)

Hi folks. This is completely off topic (or is it? ), but it did freak me out for a moment.

I was streaming a documentary about The Phoenix Lights, you know -- the mass sighting of unknown lights in the sky over most of Arizona back in the 90's. The film just gets to the part about government response to the stories when suddenly THIS appears on my screen:

WHERE'S THAT TIN HAT EVERYONE GOT A FEW MONTHS BACK? Is it still in my inventory? I can't find it!!!!
