Mari, I'm so sorry to hear about Kenzie. It is good that you were her friend while she was here. And good that you had the kind of weekend I'm sure we all assumed you would.

Well, I showed up at the hangout thinking the party started at 4 dressed normally (but hey, it's my SL!) ... so I changed to my emergency robot quickly, but then someone told me they have one too, so I found something a bit more exclusive to wear. ![]() Please put me on your list....I mean..put in a good word for me and remind The Old Dude that I need a whole new computer. ![]() Wait... it's no s'posed to? ![]() It was sad, yes. I had no 'real' expectations though, so didn't get too upset. I am still a loyal Raider fan and always will be, Chargers be damned........ ![]() _____________________

My husband seems to be a bit exasperated with the Chargers himself. But he always gets a bit of special satisfaction when they beat the Raiders. The only time I have cared at all is when the Chargers actually went to the Super Bowl that was pretty cool. I know......beating the Raiders always gives a true Charger fan a special gleam in their eye. I accept that and can still be your friend, lol. We brought home a handful of little nonsense souvenirs the Chargers were giving away (that's where I draw the line, PAYING for any Charger gear.) They are little spongy like cup or can holders; My husband sent one to one of the managers here at my job, who is just a Charger fan to his cold, cold heart. My husband pointed out though, that had it been the other way around, he wonders and doubts if he could expect such largesse from a Charger fan, if the Chargers had lost........ah well never know though, not this time around, will we? My friend here at work, accepted the little offering with a smirk and an eye roll. ![]() |

Great pics, Lil! Everyone is so creative. Notice there were no duplicates of costumes, which is amazing given the number of people there Pep (Although I am pretty sure she didn't wear gingham hot pants in the movie, Mel. ![]() _____________________

Same here - but no trouble telling them apart. I'm sorry I didn't get to see you in person last night, Pep, but the pictures of you look great - I especially like the coat of many colors but the gladiator was very good, too. Yes, there were two Dorothys, but since one was cross-dressing, I didn't count it as a repeat. ![]() _____________________

The USS New York, a new San Antonio amphibious transport ship arrived in The City today to be commisioned, after sailing up from the shipyard in New Orleans. She is docked near The Intrepid Museum, and is open to the public. 7.5 tons of steel salvaged from the World Trade Center was used in her construction.

I've never forgotten the feeling of pride when the ships slid down the ways and into the ocean for the first time. I count as one of the coolest experiences in my life being selected for the yard team to go out on builder's trials on one of the frigates--3 days at sea, putting the ship through her paces, and access to the bridge, command and control, and every other area of the ship. I can't for the life of me remember the name of the frigate I sailed on, but it might very well have been this one http://www.navysite.de/ffg/FFG51.HTM, the U.S.S. Gary. the timing is right, anyway... _____________________

My pics from the Halloween party have been uploaded to Flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/littleme_jewell/sets/72157622714055626/ and added to the group page: http://www.flickr.com/groups/forumcartel/pool/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/littleme_jewell/4066432279/in/pool-forumcartel I think maybe you were a pixie or a dryad, but I kept thinking of your name and the old Green Giant commercials with "Lil Sprout." Some of those dance moves were distracting the guy behind the keyboard here. Here's a Boomer Pic ![]() . _____________________

I want to say thanks to Lil and everyone else who organized the Halloween Party! It's a good thing the mics were all set to push-to-talk, 'cause we spent a lotta time laughing our heads off.
Only in SL can you take a shower in the stars! ![]() Or see the cast of Springtime for Hitler stretching to kiss Mo's perfectly coifed pate while pole dancing: ![]() Everybody's pictures on the cartel site were fabulous - since I was on a lappie for a lot of the time, I never got to see many of the costumes - wonderful! It was like old times at the Hangout - so great to see everyone. And great music! ![]() |

Ok, this is off topic (is anything in this thread ON topic, I wonder?)
But I've discovered another reason that I don't like the new official blogs/forums. They seem to be frequented by a much higher percentage of foul-mouthed antisocial and judgmental morons than here. Sorry, I just need to vent that. And signal my appreciation for the MUCH higher calibre of participant we find here. ![]() Oh, and congrats, Mari, btw! _____________________

While we're off topic .. Scylla ... have you heard any more from Isabeal about Circle of 30 besides the one notecard she sent out a week or so ago? I haven't been on much and may have missed some stuff, although she's probably busy working out logistics if that's all we've received so far.

No, I haven't heard anything from her since that notecard. I suppose I'd better start thinking about producing a gift . . . I'll check her blog, and see if there is anything there. _____________________

Ok thanks! ![]() FYI, we're talking about participating in a domestic violence awareness fundraiser starting from Dec 1-15th so we'll spam you all later to buy our stuff, even if you think it's craptastic, because 100% goes to charity! _____________________
