Since we are closing in on Halloween ...
What was the best or most favorite costume you have ever worn?

One year, I went as the Chicken of Depression... A chicken outfit, with a little bluebird perched on my shoulder, carrying a basket filled with chocolate, cigarettes, and Prozac...

With apologies to Gary Larsen... :p

I'm a very lazy Halloween person: I think the closest I've ever got, as an adult, to a costume for a party was a sort of vaguely-defined vampire chick. Meh.

I did go to a party once, though, which featured a couple of (male) friends clad head-to-foot in white. They circulated among all the women, informing them that they were "sperm," and offering "free samples" . . .

A few years ago, my husband and I went as a plug and socket. I am not big on the dress up stuff for Halloween -- it is more fun in SL.

I was doing a hunt and decided to see what gutting and cleaning fish was like (not real exciting actually):

Then after all that hunting I got tired and needed a small nap:

And good morning, Threadies. :)

Boo-hiss; it's raining here...again. *sighs* It's supposed to be yucky all weekend. :(

Here's what I had for breakfast:

Minus the tea, though.

Coffee anyone?

Off to get two new tires and a battery for my car. Part of my "get ready for winter weather" planning... :)

Have fun today, kids!

What a weird thing! I was working on my house yesterday, aligning textures, and then when I went to put it back in inventory, the "take" took forever.

This morning I looked in inventory and only saw the backup copy (from two days ago) - thank god I have that!

So I figured I'd rez the old one and redo the work I did yesterday,

BUT

as I was walking to a good spot I hit an invisible wall.

Pretty quickly I realized that my house was there, but invisible.

I wondered whether I'd derezzed it (a feature on the Emerald viewer) but I hadn't. (If I had, my alt would have seen it.)

So I called someone with return rights on the sandbox, but they said it didn't appear in the list of objects.

"Looks like it's been ghosted," she said.

And yes, I did try clearing cache, relogging, tp'ing out and coming back. I think it's just gone. Luckily I only lost a half hour of work.

Oh God it is an absolutely dreadful morning here. Yuck.
Even Boomer gave me a dirty look when I woke him up off the bed.

I have been hearing a lot of stories recently about ghosted prims. It must be something in the last couple of server updates.

My sister Fiona is visiting, and this morning we realized that no one had thought about what to offer for breakfast. My mother asked to make pancakes, but I dithered because no one actually SAID they wanted any, but finally it got to the point that I HAD to,

but we didn't have any mix. So that was that!

EXCEPT THAT

Fiona said, "Seven, you can make pancakes from scratch. It isn't hard."

(Fiona is a kind of superwoman. She does all kinds of difficult things, but afterward she is always disappointed, because she figures if she could actually do it, it means it wasn't really hard. In that way she robs herself of her achievements. But it's also a kind of goad to me, because if she says something is easy, I can't get around doing it, if you know what I mean.)

So I grabbed a cookbook and mixed them up. We didn't have any sugar so I used honey.

And they were really good!

Mom said, "And all this time I thought pancakes were something complicated..."

It's finished! Mostly, the hanging garden is a purchase but the house up top is all Rhonda.

We've hired a moving company but it's going to take them a while to transport our stuff. =^.^=

There are no alpha layers anywhere in the house. The engine area on top has a few on the instrument panels but as far as the living area, my hair will always be perfect

You needed a cook book to make pancakes? I make any one of three different types on demand for my kids. They prefer my cooking to my wife's but they are smart enough not to tell her.
