Well, I dun got an answer cuz he ain't totally asked me. But I can prob'ly ask a friend, like up above.

Glad ya liked all the piccies. :-D

Ya, my brother does that whole "you gots a boyfriend" sorta thing all the time. Anyone wanna buy a brother, cheap?

He's come up a lot in this update, huh?

Mari, dear, this is your first taste of why grownup ladies go around muttering, "...men!" under their breath.

With Jonny, you have to make it REAL CLEAR what's expected of him. Like, "Jonny, y'know yesterday you told me your parents said you should ask me to the prom?" "Uh, yeah..." "Well, are you gonna? Ask me? 'Cause my Mom says if I'm going, she needs to know soon, so's we can get a dress." The lesson here is either, Men Are Chicken, or Men Are Dense, take your pick and twice on Thursdays.

With your brother...find him a girlfriend. A friend who's a girl, I mean. Then, when he's walking around all stupid and stuff, thinking about her, DON'T tease him about it.

And don't sell him. Used brothers are hardly worth anything on the second hand market.

Wow!

Um...how does it make the objects inside the containment area, like the trees and the teahouse?

All the objects are stored in the root prim of the containment area. The do have to have copy perms since they get deleted. Then you use llRezObject or llRezAtRoot to rez them at the correct location. Then the script changes the texture on the inside of the container to match the scene. The container is two 15X30 megaprims and one 15X30X10 hollowed megaprim. So she has 114 prims for each build. Need to improve the script alot. It is a bit on the clunky side.

And in other news -- I'm in an official SL book! \o/

Talking about kid avvies \o/ \o/

http://www.sybex.com/WileyCDA/SybexTitle/The-Second-Life-Grid-The-Official-Guide-to-Communication-Collaboration-and-Community-Engagement.productCd-0470412917,navId-290543.html

I guess I'm on page 111 in there, at least that's what I was tole by someone who seen it on the shelf at their local Buns & Noodles store.

That page above with the huge-o URL includes the index and stuff, as well as the first chapter. Not a bad read. I especially like the part where it talks about how people with surveys are treated on the official forums. ;-)

(The price for it is way better at the store an elsewhere than on that page, BTW)

As far as me. My concert last Friday went well, even it wasn't well attended. I was expecting a much larger crowd than we had. Ah well, for those who showed up, I think we gave a pretty decent show.

Until the police arrived! :D While we were breaking down after the concert, a police car pulled up and wanted to know what we were doing...late on a Friday night...taking large amounts of equipment out of the school. "Erm..well you see officer..."

I am sure you wowed the crowd! :)

But I am still laughing over your tete-a-tete with the local constabulary! :D

To all my friends here, some of you know already that I am leaving SL, probably forever. I can honestly say this, however, that if Adult Content were segregated from Mature and PG and had it been possible to introduce a particular person to SL in a PG/Mature setting I would not be leaving. Couple this with the ravings in the popular press about SL being only about sex, it creates an untenable personal situation for me. I will miss you all very much. Jackie.

:(

*hugs*

I'm sorry to see you go, Jackie. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it's a temporary leave of absence. :)

Good morning Threadies,

I had a great time in sl Saturday. Will and I went to the Moulin Rouge and they were doing the stage play Chicago! I must say it was very impressive. The singing, the costumes, the background setting and very minimal lag. It was very outstanding. Too bad they won't run it for a week, I guarantee anyone that likes musical plays you have loved it. :D

WOW!!! That must have been amazing, sable!!! :) I'm sorry I missed it. :(

Thanks for all the "welcome homes" everyone!

I quoted Jerboa's specifically, because during the whole trip Ghosty kept saying we need to move to an island, or at the very least, near the ocean lol. See, he used to live in St. Croix for a few years, both of us lived in Florida (although we equally hated being there at the time - sorry Amara!). I have frequently found myself living very close to water during my lifetime in general. However, during this trip we both realized how much we miss this atmosphere, even as much as I complain about the summers when I'm in the midst of it. Each night at sea, we slept with the balcony door open, so we could have the sound of the waves lull us to sleep (the rocking of the boat helped as well). We don't remember sleeping so well in a very long time.

So, who knows. He keeps trying to convince me to up and move "somewhere" - he has that kind of bug in him, whereas I'm a lot more stable, like my roots close to family, and don't like taking too many chances. But, perhaps he *might* be able to convince me down the road to move someplace warmer and more scenic, if we could find a place where getting a job is a possibility - Bermuda is NOT it, that much we know. It has very strict laws about allowing foreigners to work there, let alone live there. You can't even become a citizen unless you marry a native and remain married for 10 years. And it's mad crazy expensive to live there as well - average price of a home is $1.4 million, average rent they said was $3000-$4000 a month and many people need to work 2-3 jobs to be able to afford their lifestyles, minimum lifestyles mind you

LOL...This is why I moved to San Diego (a while back). I had been sitting on the beach in Delaware, and was trying to figure out how I could live and work at the beach. It's difficult to accomplish in many parts of the Atlantic coastline...but boy, oh boy...I sure lucked out in San Diego! I lived 12 blocks from the beach! :)

I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day yesterday. I took my mom to a buffet at the Tuscan Brio. Well they had these shrimp and crab cakes to die for. But everytime we would go up to the buffet they were gone. We mentioned it to our server and next thing we know he started bringing them 4 & 5 at our table. Then another server did the same thing. Then OMG the executive chef cooked up some special for us and a divine sauce over them. So YUMMY!!!

Then my mother whispers to me, I bought a ziplock bag. I was like no you didn't then kinda sorta fussed at her about that. You should've seen me trying to scoot them in the bag along with those jumbo shrimp. But I tell you, those shrimp and crab cakes tasted wonderful this morning over with a egg and english muffin.

I told Will about it and he was like I can see you now getting banned out of the restaurant for doing that. I told him that's nothing, you see me get a few steaks, bake potatoes and ribs. Its all about skills.!!

OK, now I know I am not the only one that has done this before.

OK...this story just made me think of a stand up comedian's routine: :D (Warning: it's not completely...PC, if you have concerns)

I haz a holodeck. I made the builds and Damien wrote the script to change from on scene to another.

My teahouse

And my Victorian Era apartment

That's all that I have build for it yet. :D

Now, this...this is cool.

I remember my friend Kit lived in a skybox which had a room...which could change at the push of a button on the wall. Pressing the button rezzed a kitchen, a bathroom, or a lovely terrace. It was really nifty.

However, important safety note: It's vital that you are not "in" the space during the rezzing process, especially if you're, say....way up in the air in the skybox....

I learned that the hard way. :o Now I have an area clear so that I can stand there while changing scenes.

Put at least one "real" prim in the build, as a floor, maybe?

The floor is real, but if something rezzes right where you are standing, it has a tendency to shove you out of the way, sometimes right out of the box. :o
