From: Tod69 Talamasca I saw that! Some of these Trekkies either have TONS of disposable income or are willing to sell their souls. 'Course if I had that much $$ to blow, I'd be at the Auction too!!! And YES- saw the movie!...... Twice!!! No Borg tho I went to a Star Trek convention once with a boyfriend that was really really in to it. I THOUGHT he was really in to it -- until I saw all the people running around in various Star Trek related costumes. Wow, some of those full outfits had to have cost a fortune and I just could not image spending that kind of money on it. I did get to hear a talk by Majel Barrett -- that was really cool.

From: Brenda Connolly Just back from seeing Star Trek. There's a lot to to say about it, but don't want to be a spoiler. I will just say..................I approve. Yay! I can't wait. From: Amaranthim Talon I am totally into it- it's just going to be tricky getting to it- will proly end up waiting for pay per view. Same here. I'd just rather watch it on our fairly big screen tv, while lying on my couch, eating my own snacks, all for $3.00. From: Weston Graves Seeing it tomorrow. Really waiting for Angels and Demons. (My first foray into this thread . Better late than never and abstinence makes the heart grow fonder.) Welcome Weston! I recently re-read Angels and Demons - I liked it better than The Da Vinci Code book, which I liked better than the movie. But I'll probable see A&D movie sooner or later.

If Brenda and Lexxi liked the Star Trek movie, it's bound to be good. I trust their judgement.

From: 3Ring Binder Another scatological photo, and ignorance of the fact that it is not Mother's Day elsewhere in the world, and that Mothering Sunday is *not* about Mother's but a religious celebration of Mother Churches/ Percy Shaw, who invented the "cats eye's" safety studs that are used on roads, was apparently inspired by seeing a cat facing him when he was out driving at night. Perhaps one was running away from 3Ring as she drove, and she invented this instead? Pep (If you search for cat pencil sharpener in Google Images the fifth picture is quite nasty. Don't say I didn't warn you!)

I am sure it has been done to death but for all mothers out there
05-10-2009 15:47
i want to wish all mothers out there a happy mothers day..
When God made mothers, He took great care To fill their hearts with love so rare. Their children are their greatest prize; You can see the great love in your mother’s eyes.
Love, love is a mother’s gift To their precious children, their hearts to lift. Warm, tender and giving love That grows them up healthy and happy.
Thank you, mother for all you give To help me grow and to help me live. I will love you forevermore, My mother, my mom, whom I adore.
Love, love is a mother’s gift To their precious children, their hearts to lift. Warm, tender and giving love That grows us up healthy and happy.

I understand the sentiment. I am probably one of the few who still enjoy "Going to the movies". It was such a cherished childhood memory, I guess. Even in the age of overpriced, cookie cutter multiplexes, I still love going out to see a movie. I just enjoy going out, period. I really hope I don't live to see the day when we can do EVERYTHING from a computer, and never have to leave the house or interact with another human being.

I keep forgetting I have movies, so I somewhat rarely watch on the tv, though I've been doing that more lately. Watching that is, not forgetting.

They did a remarkable job -- and I'm an OLD fan who saw the original series when it first came out on prime time. I thought it was way past time to put this franchise to rest, but this movie proves me wrong. I hope it proves not all science fiction movies have to be comic book based these days. I was getting tired of that trend.

Hi everybuggy! I hope ya'll had a super mother's day weekend. I had a lot of First Life to do, which means I did't necessarily have a lot of SL to do. Anyway. Friday inworld was not really a lot of fun. Nothing like getting a panic call asking me to pull every vendor in Livingtree due to an exploit. I'm *not* going to go into detail on that for obvious reasons, but it was due to some outdated vendor code that someone(s) learned to bypass -- and in the process managed to take most of Livingtree Island's tier for the month. Definitely a trying day. On the plus side, LL acted quickly, and will be doing what they can to help us recover the L$ in question. Kudos to Molly Linden an Patch Linden for the help. By the evening, though, things had been fixed as far as the vendors were concerned, allowing for a little downtime. I got myself TPed to a barn dance. This is SL, so the dance actually took place on the roof. That and Blue Linden was passing out the ol Fuego! attachment, so the roof, the roof, the roof was on fire. I hope AM Radio paid up his fire insurance. Anyway, Saturday. First, I got up late 'cuz of all the stuff the day before. Then I had to go do chores an get groceries. I also had some other FL stuff to do that took another big chunk of the day. By the time I made it inworld, I was pretty wiped out. So I did my work at the fishing tournament, then my friend Johnny took me on a boat ride around Livingtree. He said someting about how he was tole he should ask me to th' school prom too. I dun remember him actually askin' me, though - jes that he was tole he should. Sunday was my busy day inworld, mostly on Bay City Parade preparation. We had our Bay city Alliance meeting to discuss the parade, the Hau Koda infohub, and other things. Then I had an informal practice with some of my friends in the Bay City Children's Blurtophone Band. I made the uniforms myself (well, my brother Pygar helped a bit on the hats). I also checked out one of the other groups that'll be in the parade, the Yokohama Marching Band hailing out of Japan (with additional members in Egypt and the UK). It's gonne be packed, I think, but we'd love to see ya'll there. Heck, I'd love to see a "Forum Cartel" float or balloon or something. Anyway, I finished off the day with more promotion of the parade, including a brief stop at Shoe & Tell in Lummerland, helping Robin work on a project, and even a touch of exploring. Not many piccies, though I did get a sorta nice one of a Brooklyn-like bridge in Delerium. An that's th' weekend! Hope ya'll have a good week, an come to the parade!

Wow, Mari...Sorry to hear about the Livingtree vendor problem. And lol, in spite of your RL activities, you still managed to do a lot inworld!! So...ARE you going to the school prom with Johnny? You didn't happen to indicate your answer one way or the other... Thank you again for all the pics. The uniforms look great; the pic of *ahem* you and Johnny on your boat ride was a lovely one. And seeing the "el Fuego" pics reminds me that I have that in my inventory, too!!!
