So Mom's first chemo went well. Wasn't nearly as scary as we were both psyching ourselves out for. The treatment room is really big, like a large living room, maybe, and has huge windows that look out over some lovely greenery n stuff; the other walls have soothing Japanese paintings. There are about 30 huge leather reclining chairs; the patients (and families if room's available) just pick a chair, get hooked up to an IV by the nurses, and hang out for a few hours. The nurses are all cheerful and joking and friendly; they really made the environment nice. The room has snacks like granola bars, crackers, sodas, tea, coffee, etc available, and there's a cafe across the parking lot, and we can bring food in as well. I think I did about 259 sudokus and read most of a book; the whole thing was uneventful. Mom did really well; she napped and read, and now she's home watching TV. They dosed her up on some strong anti-nausea meds (like Zofran) so no barfing or anything.

Five more to go, yay!

*hugs* to all; I'll catch you later.

:)

If the evacuation order comes, I'll turn off the water and gas, and my kitty and I will get the heck out.

Regretting selling my minivan and getting a Geo Metro... could have slept in the van, not to mention saving more stuff.

Give me a shout. I'll come get you.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the very neat map show that starts everything when you arrive there (Kings Rezzable). You arrive on a map compas thingie, and below you is a map of the world, Libya and Egypt, map moves and zooms to the King Tut part. ..

I didn't get a picture of the first part :( Though this picture kind of shows part of Libya and Egypt, I mean the words. (that's me way down there on the map compas)

King Tut's tomb, mapped (again, I'm on the compas down there)

Requesting your prayers, for those of you who pray...

My hometown is being ravaged by a wildfire, which is out of control due to extreme and unpredictable winds. The evacuation boundary is getting closer by the hour and there is a chance I may need to evacuate in the near future. To be honest... I'm terrified.

I'm praying for the winds to die down and for our emergency service personnel. They have been working nonstop for several days now.

Oh, sorry to hear, hope you do not have to flee.

Strange Lexxi, I didn't start out there at all and never saw the above area. When I teleported, I ended up in the middle of that cosmos place and worked my way from there...

Oh, I keep forgetting I wander in ways others might not. I got there, the two times I got there, by putting "kings rezzable" into map search, and teleporting over. Instead of using places search, or all search, or showplace.

So, um, there is a neat map up there. heh

Okay, newest adventures...went to FreeShells Tide Pools, was a lot of fun. There are about six or so different areas to partake, i.e. diving, swimming, meditation and my favorite, climbing up a mountain and going through passes that have wild flowers, very beautiful. They also have a store which I didn't shop in. Anyway, check it out if you have time :D

You know, wondering 'what if...' kind of scenario ;)

This is the place Steely and I went boating in the other night- there is a drowned noobie at the bottom of the sea.. and a really odd pice of art called Fish Head- both close to the end of the sim. Gorgeous pictures, Ashe - and for you art lovers, there are original works of art in one building at ridiculously low prices.

What do you consider ridiculously low prices?

$25 Lindens for Original Work of art is just ludicrous! I saw a gorgeous watercolor there I fell in love with.

I have to admit though, the mental image of Pep doing the Haka does conjure up some amusement :D VV
Well........ "amusement" is not exactly the word I would have used.

Wiener Man has a reputation at Shiraz for answering most trivia questions with Wiener! Not sure when it started but has been so for years :). These days he doesn't get into SL much, so when he does he is much appreciated - having him there dressed as a hot dog had people in stitches :D

we made a 2x4 planter box for grass, for Jimi. he isn't going to be allowed to roam freely outside, so it seemed only fair to bring the outside up to him, even if just a little. we'll add some flowers and such soon, to make him really happy. :)

that is Nikki off to the side, also exploring the box of grass

his outside experience will be limited to this upper deck. will try to lure birds and butterflies. that will be fun!
