in the restaurant industry though, it is well known that most ppl will say it is fine, then never return. obviously there will be people willing to complain. i preemptively complain! but the majority do not.

we only keep our mouths shut so they don't spit in our dessert! :p

You know, to give Treasure's Husband (love the caps) credit, I think this one, he actually 'got'. He now understands this was not funny, not a joke, NOBODY is laughing. Amen Sister, I'm right with you. You had better find a bear cub to steal from it's mother before you screw with my java. :mad:

You can tell him though to keep some of those used coffee grounds in the litchen. When your hands get smelly from handling garlic, or fish or whatever, just rub some of the coffee grounds on your hands.

Also , chewing on a coffee bean is a great way to kill garlic breath.

Lexxi - boiled down it seems to be another bit of social grease societies develop to keep from tearing each others arms off and beating themselves to a blood pulp. LIke, 'Honey does this dress make my butt look big?" 'Honey' knows if he says yes he will be sleeping on the couch if he's lucky - so he lies and says, "oh no, you are gorgeous in it!" She knows she isn't or wouldn't have asked, she knows he knows and is being polite, he knows she knows he is lying but everyone wants to hold up their side of the farce so he doesn't have to sleep on the couch and she doesn't have to exit the room crying. More marriages would end in bloodshed if we had not developed our own brand of this - regardless of what we call it.

Just a concept and a window into another culture that does resonate a bit with Western society if not exactly- goes to show we are more a like than different - except for that whole Elvis thing...


This is part of my noting I have poor social skills. I miss most things like that. Though this one has been beaten into my head by careful repetition in movies and the like.

Still, I'd carefully examine the buttocks and the fabric clinging to said buttocks and suggest ways to make that outfit work. Say a careful use of "catching" the material on one side with a belt, or pin, or the like. Revealing assets, or hidding faults.

i'm like that about a few things (such as justice and accountability), but i guess i'm much more flexible in the coffee department.
