and I can can the creepy frog - (ewwww - canned frog...)
Eeewwwww!
Please don't "can the frog" on my account, I didn't mean it as a complaint, just an observation. It kind of reminds me of Aahz the demon from Robert Asprin's books.

/me smiles :) Oh believe me- he is totlly creeping me out too! but for now unless someone screams in fear i guess we can let him stay :) - if he does bother too much I will remove him. I have an aunt that cannot bear even pictures of lizard! I had a cute articulated silver one on a thong round my neck and i had to remove it if she was around because it bothered her that much.

Sorry, I was just responding to Allegria's post that the tea parties were funded by organizations.....kind of saying that it wasn't exactly a grass roots movement. I shall never indulge in politico speak again.

And if you read Lindal's post that I was quoting, you would see that I was responding to her assertion that the Tea party movement was a groundswell of public opinion. I don't agree with many of the political opinions of posters here, and mostly, I keep my opinions to myself. What I most object to though, are unfounded assertions of opinion as fact. I merely looked up some actual facts to set the record straight.

It's late... this whole issue is disturbing to me. I really despair over our country, sometimes.

Against my better judgment, and fruitless though this may be, I'm stepping into this one last time.
Then you deserve a reasoned response.

From: Maureen Boccaccio
Pep. Please stop this. Why do you even read this thread?
Are you suggesting I shouldn't? More censorship?

From: Maureen Boccaccio
I'm not sure what pleasure you've been deriving from the silly banter and photos....so why do you persist in reading, and then posting photos and/or comments which you know to be horrific and/or painful to others?
Sensitivity is a personal thing obviously. I have indicated that I find LOLCATs "horrific and/or painful" but people still post them.

From: Maureen Boccaccio
Until you started this retaliatory campaign, no one (at least until recently) posted an LOLcat with the sole intent to injure another reader. (I could, of course, be wrong, but I certainly do not recall any intentionally nasty LOLcats.)
You sound as if you have been reading Phil Spector's defence. Intent is irrelevant to the victim of a gunshot through their skull.

From: Maureen Boccaccio
And please don't respond by asking me why others post LOLcats when you do not like LOLcats. I cannot speak for anyone else, but I am not posting LOLcats to upset or offend you, nor would I dream of so doing. If and when I post them, I do so because I find the photos to be amusing or goofy or because they have a catchy phrase attached to them. (Again, I could be wrong, but I don't think other are doing it with malice aforethought. OK...now that I think about it, I do recall posting a few to poke at Brenda...but they were not done in a mean-spirited fashion.)
Now you are contradicting, and therefore condemning, yourself, and the others who do the same.

From: Maureen Boccaccio
You expressed curiosity as to why your photos are being singled out for deletion.
Did I? I don't recall that.

From: Maureen Boccaccio
Being the intelligent man I know you are, you're perfectly capable of reasoning out the difference between one sort of LOLcat and another.
Is this relevant? I don't post LOLCATs.

From: Maureen Boccaccio
The difference, Pep, is that "crush pictures" are not allowed as they they have been determined to be not "PG."
Determined by whom? And at least one photo was removed that was not a "crush picture". Invisible, arbitrary and unexplained censorship sounds like the sort of thing that would have the forums up in arms if opinions were requested in a Friday thread. I am sure I would be able to make an argument that the photos were acceptable from a PG point of view if the discussion were to be out in public, rather than being a secret uncommunicated decision negotiated between conspirators behind closed doors.

From: Maureen Boccaccio
These forums are classified as PG. Hence the reason for MY official request for their removal.
Does this represent an "official" acknowledgement by yourself that this thread is actually subject to the ToS and Forum Guidelines? Does this mean that to avoid accusations of hypocrisy you will be requesting that it should be closed down, as it has no question to answer, and according to the Guidelines: "threads that are no longer productive may be locked from further posting"? Perhaps you will be requesting that posts regarding political matters should be deleted or removed to the appropriate forum? I could give further examples of possible contraventions, but I don't really want to see this thread closed down.

That's really cute Ghosty :)

Morning Denizen's of the Thread - /me throws open the windows and greets a bright, fresh and dewy morning.

It is greyish here, the sun is not quite sure if it wants to peek out from behind the clouds - wish he'd go back to bed and we could spend the day watching soft rain- our grass is parched!

Here are a couple of pix from last night:

Ok, why am I awake? I'm not working :p Darn alarm clock on the other side of the bed!

Mo, stunning photo of the hyacinth. I love their fragrance. I really like the tiny version of them, the grape hyacinths. And that "kitty cake" is to die for!

Amara - great pix from last night. I really like the one with the planes :)
BTW, the frog is creepy - however, I like frogs like I like lizards to, it's a keeper for me. And the cat from last night - wow, those are some green eyes! If I ever was able to get a cat, and was choosing one to adopt those eyes alone would make me choose him/her.
Yea for Anthony Bourdain! Did you know that on that cooking website I told you about, there have been several threads where people have discussed his "hawtness" factor? Quite seriously in fact lol. Consensus always was most woman were bowled over by him and the men never seemed to understand why ;)

I think the cat is doctored up since its from Worth - thankfully the frog has fallen off the page- and re Bourdain - I get that same huh why reaction from husband when I say Toby Keith is hwat :) (I think it's the whole bad boy image- Mr. Bourdain looks like he could be a whole lot of trouble!)

Love hyacinths! I had lots in flower all over Easter and the sunshine warmed them enough to scent the whole garden. :)
