From: 3Ring Binder check out the Texas Station also (maybe not for lodging although that is fine too, but for "other entertainment" if you are seeking a small drive). it has a small casino no where near the strip, but has a movie theatre and dinner buffet to die for.
and you have to have the Arizona Charlie's $1.99 breakfast. plenty of food and not bad for the price. just don't order any drinks (bring your own). they cost $2.50 each and raises the $1.99 breakfast to $8.50 in a mad hurry. and the food's not that good for $8.50. LOLOL Texas Station is nice. Never been to Arizona Charlie's, but for off strip I like Sam's Town and Terrible's, which hs an awesome breakfast buffet.

From: Jerboa Haystack Evening everyone. I'm afraid I happily settled my tax bill back in February. I figure I spent 10 years making my livelihood from the Federal taxes. The least I can do is my civic duty to support those who are in the position I was then. I'm glad those of you who went enjoyed the tea demonstrations today. The pictures I've seen have been....interesting... Yeah but they deserve the support. It's all the people who don't deserve the money that are the problem. As far as news coverage goes, from what I've seen, it's pretty much as I expected MessNBC is pretty much saying it is all the work of FoxNews and the RNC.

From: Jerboa Haystack My thoughts will be with you and your friend, 3. thank you. i really appreciate that. From: LittleMe Jewell *hugs* 3 *hugs* i needz 'em. thank you. From: Aeslyn Dae That's hard, but also good that you can be with your friend. I was having one of those bleuurgh, miserable days but you remind me I have a lot to be grateful for. -- Aes it does bring perspective to the forefront, doesn't it. thanks for reminding me also. From: Brenda Connolly Awww 3....Boomer says he'll come over and lick your face if you want. i can think of no better cure for sadness... except maybe some kitty licks. thank you for the offer. From: Treasure Ballinger Sorry to hear of your friend, 3Ring. Sometimes, all you can do, is be there.... yes, that is all i have. and thank you. From: Elora Lunasea @3Ring - I didn't see where you originally posted about visiting your ill friend. Just wanted to say, although it's a difficult thing to visit someone potentially at the end of their life, it's also a gift you give them. Be strong, for them and for yourself. I've been in that situation several times, and can assure you that as time goes by, when you look back at this visit you'll be very happy you made the trip. For me, it was always a deeply moving experience. *big hugs* it is unexpected, and i still have a bit of hope. but, realistically.... thank you for the kind words. From: Jackie Silverfall Please accept a deferred huge, long hug from this one...best of luck Jackie thank you. hugs are most welcome. From: Maureen Boccaccio ohhhh, 3Ring. *hugs you close* It's good that you're able to spend time with your friend now. It's those times when loved ones die and I've not been able to say my farewells and words of love and encouragement that haunt me. From: Maureen Boccaccio *waves to 3Ring* Hey...how are you? How's your friend? /me waves back. i have had the experience of not saying goodbye a couple of times - i was too young and immature and unable to face such truths and realities as death. i am much stronger now. thank you for your thoughtful post. From: Zena Randt Long, warm hugs, 3Ring. I'm so sorry, hon. I just lost someone too this past week. So sudden, no warning..just gone. Being beside your friend to let him know you are there is a gift. You and your friend will be in my thoughts today. Take care, sweetie. And you still owe me a dance! he had a bit of twinkle in his eye when i threatened to pluck his nose hairs. or maybe that was fear. =P ah, we have a friendship of one-upping each other in the humor department - i won today, but that's only because he was too weak to speak much. =/ i'm so sorry about your friend. that is so hurtful. *hugs* thank you all for your support of my friend, and me. he is a nice fellow. i can only hope my beg to God for a miracle comes to pass.

From: Lindal Kidd According to Homeland Security, all single-issue voters, such as those concerned about abortion, or gun control, or illegal aliens, or gay marriage, are "right wing radicals" and are being considered a threat to national security. I'm dead serious, it was in an official report. Right-to-lifers are now right up there with the KKK.
It's amazing how liberals shout about "freedom of speech" until someone starts opposing them. Then it's personal attack time. Well, to be fair, it's not ONLY liberals. Lots of foolish people on both sides of the fence.
The Tea Party movement is impressive because it started from nothing. No political party, no professional spin doctors. Just a ground swell of people who have one thing in common: a shred of common sense that tells them we can't keep spending money we don't have and expect there to be no consequences down the road.
From: 3Ring Binder can i get an AMEN to that, sister! Actually, I thought the DHS report was a good read. http://www.fas.org/irp/eprint/rightwing.pdf In 2001, a similar report was issued the DOE that is just as good a read. http://www.osti.gov/bridge/servlets/purl/780410-SHVVvq/native/780410.PDF

From: Amaranthim Talon What are you bitching about? You will have that extra $13 bux not being taken out of your paycheck every week! Now you can buy groceries! (Set aside the tax on it though, 'cause it's additional income....) She will only get to keep that until the carbon taxes go into effect. And don't forget that after we get hyper inflation that $200 will buy half a loaf of bread.

The Tea Party movement is impressive because it started from nothing. No political party, no professional spin doctors. Just a ground swell of people who have one thing in common: a shred of common sense that tells them we can't keep spending money we don't have and expect there to be no consequences down the road. I let this go by earlier, but now it's quoted again... You know, guys, extremists of all ilk are a threat to our national security. Some right-to-lifers blow up abortion clinics. We all know what Timothy McVey did. Earth Firsters and Greenpeace similarly threaten our safety and security. DHS also released an intelligence briefing on the threat of left-wing extremists, but you don't see Fox News all up in arms about that. If we stopped to think about it, we'd realize that it probably takes months to compile, vet, and release an intelligence report like the ones referenced. I imagine both of these reports were commissioned during the last administration. Oh, and the Tea party movement? From the American Tea party website: "We’re a coalition of citizens and organizations concerned about the recent trend of fiscal recklessness in government. This website is dedicated to the Washington, D.C. effort of February 27th, 2009 specifically sponsored by the American Spectator, the Heartland Institute, Americans for Tax Reform, the National Taxpayers Union, Americans for Prosperity, FreedomWorks, the Institute for Liberty, the Coalition for a Conservative Majority and the Young Conservatives Coalition" I think you'll find, like many "grassroots" movements, there's a lot of money and political savvy fueling the fires. So, carry on... Just wanted to inject some reality check to the rhetoric flying today.

Problem is, when conservatives do it, they are called radicals.....when liberals do it....they are called patriotic. We are taxed too heavily and this government is too big....and this guy in the white house is only going to make it worse. I'm tired of it - and today probably won't make a dent in the government's mindset, but I don't care, I was glad to vent.

He was trying to tell her how he is fed up with Washington in general and she kept interupting him asking him why he is an Obama Basher.

By me, if no one else. . If u look closely you will find that there are various views here - and no one attacks anyone's views personally- and if they did EVERYONE would turn on that one person because we may have very different views but we are friends and have (so far) managed to voice different views- probably piss off each other - and still have not resorted to name calling or insults. During the election it became very evident that we do not see eye to eye on many things- big deal- we get along just fine and when anyone feels like they don't want to read the current topic they take a walk and come back later when it has blown over - and no one bleeds and no one gets hurt. AR the thread for political discussion? Why? Just chill a bit hang around for when we are on religion- oh yeah, we talk about that too. And we will all listen and who knows? Every once in a while someone changes their mind about something and even if they don't we get informed if nothing else, of how others think. Besides- it's a great place for recipes.
