Love hyacinths! I had lots in flower all over Easter and the sunshine warmed them enough to scent the whole garden. :)

I know! In the summer, the mainstays of my garden were roses, lavender, sweet allysum and heliotrope. The four would bring on the bees big time, but they filled the garden with so much fragrance it was worth dealing with the buzzing :)

Morning Spike, good to hear from you :D

Yep, I posted earlier that it's going to be a wonderful day here in the northern part, hope yours is just as nice down there.

btw, will be coming your way in a few weeks to pick my daughter up...maybe we could meet for coffee somewhere? Will get back with you when the time is closer. Take care.

Wow, it's a busy Thursday here in the thread! :)

I love hyacinths and lilacs. And tulips. And pansies. And pretty much every other flower. Tulips, however, are my favorite. :)

@Amara -- fabulous pics; I especially love the sunset pic with the two planes on the deserted island. :)

@ Ashe -- really glad all's well in your world!

@ Elora -- Two words: ear plugs :D

@ spike -- *waves* hope all is well with you

@ Aes -- I am pretty East Coast of US-centric, aren't I? :o I'll have to remember to start serving lunch or afternoon tea, too!

Winter refuses to just go away. We have another winter storm moving in -- 1-2" of snow tonight, 4-8" tomorrow during the day, and another 3-6" tomorrow night, with the system finally moving out sometime Sat morning -- and they are talking a few feet for some of the mountain areas.

Good morning everyone. Went exploring SploLand with a friend last night and had a blast - really cool place:

Oh, I am SO GLAD you went! We barely got through one part of the sim(s) the night we went, so we popped back in another night...and still have more to see. :)

And I already have some flowers coming up and most of my flowering trees are budding.

LOL. I used to use them all the time when I lived in NYC. I'm loathe to use them now mostly because several years back, I got my first ear infection ever. Never had them as a kid, and suddenly as an adult, wham! Ear felt odd for a few days and I woke up one morning in agony, and deaf in that ear. The deafness lasted over a month after I was treated.

The only time I use them now is if I'm on a long airplane trip and really need to sleep (music/movie is fine otherwise). I just can't get over thinking that somehow having those things in my ear all the time *might* have had something to do with it.

Besides, just him rustling beside me is enough to wake me up. I'm a rather light sleeper. And, I have things to do too.

There will be no sleeping in for the unemployed here :p

I wish we'd had one really, really good snowstorm here this year. But I'm sorry you're getting one this late. :(

What really sucks about the spring snow storms is that it is almost always a very wet snow, which is hell on tree branches if we get very much, especially my younger trees.

And if you read Lindal's post that I was quoting, you would see that I was responding to her assertion that the Tea party movement was a groundswell of public opinion. I don't agree with many of the political opinions of posters here, and mostly, I keep my opinions to myself. What I most object to though, are unfounded assertions of opinion as fact. I merely looked up some actual facts to set the record straight.

It's late... this whole issue is disturbing to me. I really despair over our country, sometimes.

You are entitled to disagree, and to voice those disagreements. No one here will attack you personally for your opinions in this thread. You are right, in politics each side tends to spin everything their way, there is no immpartiality. Usually the truth is somewhere in the middle. We all despair over what is happening, and we all react to it in our own way.

Hidey Ho Threadtopia! :)

Great pics everyone!

I found Sploland last week, and Mo and I had a total blast poking around the place. Did you try the Doppler tunnel?

re: Anthony Bourdain - I can see the attraction. He's at that mature age sweet spot. He's fit, intelligent. Rugged without being intimidating. Adventurous, well travelled. And he cooks to boot! Yeah...I can see why he'd be attractive. (memo to me: work on an Anthony Bourdain image)

But...Toby Keith???:eek: Ewwww! Seriously....ewwww! Maybe 15 years and 150lbs ago, but now?
